Would that be a Vfl , Afl record to win a flag from that start? Would have to come close...

Long way to go still.

No idea about the VFL, but he's certainly a standout in the AFL. Sydney may be our arch enemy, but you have to admire them......this year!

Congrats to the Weags for making the 8, big effort yesterday against the Crows but I think the Crows were at about 95% and when you drop the intensity even by that small % anyone can get you. but They did what had to be done. What a delight to see 2 real footballers (not athletes) in Pridda and Mitchell do their thing, they were both superb in and under the packs and Mitchells disposal particularly by hand was a treat. Darling was terrific up forward working his arse off and balancing the fact that JK was well beaten. the backs as a unit were very solid and kept the best attack under pressure all day. They have a reasonable chance against Port next week and should have some reasonable odds for the win or a spread.

Been bemused by some of the hyperboli around the last game at Subi oval, one I heard was that Pavlich was the highest goal kicker at Subi oval, apparently the 600 to 700 goals that A Robertson kicked at Subi count for nothing and that in an era when it was a 1st tier comp. The continued disrespect for anything that happened in WA footy prior to 1987 is wearing thin, that being said I'm looking forward to the parade of champions that is promised for the WAFL GF, lets hope it is purely WAFL champions and not anyone from the AFL teams.

Try and Re-write that one.

I don't think any team has ever even made top 8 for 0/5 start never mind 0/6 - let alone win a flag, if Horse pulls it off it will be footy legend.

I think the Bombers made the finals after an 0/5 start in the early '80's. O/6 is another thing but remember the Swans had a number of their top players out for the first 5 or 6 rounds, as soon as they came back in the tables turned and they have been wonderfully consistent ever since. If they had a full list all season they would have been 1 or 2 on the table. Horse has tinkered with their style to make them more attacking but that doesn't seem to affect their defensive side. They are quality all over the ground.
