While I enjoy a full strength beer as much as anyone, I really think the whole super over mid is a storm in a middy glass so to speak, I really don't think going without a super for a couple of hours is that big a deal, what I would rather is quick service in a pleasant quality surrounding, i.e. decent bars around the place where you can enjoy a mid in a actual glass standing on or sitting in something other than a concrete bunker aka Subi style. and having easy access to the WC when needed.
In saying that one thing I really enjoy about WAFL is the ease of service, selection of drinks and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the game and a drink..

1st,Perth Mod.Now this!

Was the change to the status of Perth Mod part of the Labor Party platform before the state election?

And 4 fifths of nothing is what the state electors will think about the full strength veto when the next state election is on.

I never drink at Subi so it doesn't bother me, but is it a Nanny state decision?

Agree. I don't drink at Subi, but if I did, it would be mid. However, people should be allowed a choice. I'm sick of the nanny state trying to be my conscience. We must be the laughing stock of Oz.

Well other states are trying to compete with us for that title. On tv the other night a story about a hospital in Sydney cutting out junk food and soft drinks at the cafeteria. They said some junk food will still be available but in smaller portions. EG: if you have to have a muffin with your cappuccino they will be golf ball size.

Back on the topic I think the original reason behind mid strength only in the general public area is most people around you are not drinking alcohol and the last thing you want is some drunken slob mouthing off and smelling like a brewery. I think full strength is fair enough in the corporate areas as they are generally not affecting the public areas and if they are a problem in the corporate area they can deal with it and call in security.

Why don't we just ban football at the stadium and let people drink whatever they effen want....will be a lot more entertaining and for Freo fans it won't be much different...they'll be sitting in their seats thinking what the f... are we doing here again???? no difference there!!! As for eagles fans they'll be sippin away at their chardy not watching the game like usual...a radical yet simple solution to all this drinking kerfuffle....the sad state of affairs to me is the shite beer they will continue to serve up be it full or mid strength...ffs give us some decent choice of ale if you are gonna charge an hours wage for a plastic cup of beer

Wouldnt it be nice if a locally owned and brewed beer like Feral was available at the new stadium rather than another bland Eastern States one!! :)

So the Premier allows UFC in WA , and then wants to put a ban on full strength beer at the new stadium sounds a bit hypocritical the fans over easy must. be more responsible with their alcohol .

Exactly BH...at least give us some choice. Be nice if this could infiltrate thru to WAFL level. I understand beer contracts n all but when real choice is taken away by only allowing product from generic brands due to these contracts people like me will continue not to drink at the footy. Too many chemicals in that generic shite for me let alone lack of flavour.

How are the two related PN?

Why do you think a ban on full strength beer was introduced in the first place?
