Really? Can you please nominate a sponsor who would fork out at least 1 Million to pay for the coverage on ch 44 with its miniscule audience exposure and zero experince in live sports OB broadcasting?

Have done a rough calculation on the basis of the 1 mil figure.
So one million per annum cost gives 18 matches + assuming 5 finals. Equals a total of 23 televised. Equates to 43,478 dollars and 26c / game. Assuming a telecast goes for 2½ hours looks like 17,391/ hour. Or 289 dollars a minute.
If I was being paid two hundred and eighty nine dollars a minute, I'd only have to work 5 minutes a week

Its 1 mill over 3 yrs.

Most cost affective way to do it would be to live stream it on the leagues on website , set some cameras up , by pass the the networks, its already happening worldwide and is the way of the future.

TEN are losing 2 million a month on its carcus of free to air format, nobody is watching it anymore, they need 125 Mill urgent loan by Devember to stay afloat, only hope is Fox buys whats left amd saves it, but no can do under current media laws.

Its exactly the same figure that 9 wanted via sponsorship to cover it.

No i have not seen what a cameraman gets paid an hour, but at least the tax payer isnt left carrying the can as was the was the case with the Abc with there minscule ratings.

Channels sevens ratings are metro + regional viewers. The ABC ratings were always only ever metro viewers so your argument about ABC having miniscule ratings compared to Seven doesn't stack up Bazza. Some games the ABC rated high others low - same as Seven, but just remember how Sevens ratings are counted compared to the ABC maybe whoever is in charge of changing attendance figures is handling ratings figures too..

Don't think the costing is 1 million over 3 years Bazza? Think you'll find we're paying one million annually. Can't remember a figure of 330 thousand or thereabouts/ season ever mentioned previously?
Not sure if the commission is still contributing 100 thousand/ year? Or whether they only did that in 2015? The Wafl clubs would no doubt still be contributing some of the costing.

How much was it costing a Tax Payer in Broken Hill to subsidise the coverage of a league he didn't even know existed, little own care about to broadcast to as few as 5000 people on the other side of the country? lol.
