Trump has ordered a US Navy Battle group to the Korean Peninsula.

North Korea has just stated they will retaliate with a Nuclear Strike if provoked.

Any one else concerned?

I think we all should be....both countries have lunatics running the show.

All sides -- includding Australia --- are still technically at war. The big problem is that the Americans have never offerred the North Koreans a peace treaty, concerned as they have been, about the sensitivities of the South Koreans and Japanese.

To be honest, I don't think anything will happen.

North Korea is a bankrupted rust bucket with a military that can hardly feed itself or get fuel in their vehicles, the place cant even keep the lights on ( like SA) , South Korea alone as a military that could steam roll it. The NK leaders know the people will rise up and chuck them out given half a chance , hence all the bravdo , just like the fall of the Berlin Wall , one decent push and the whole rotten edifce will come crumbling down.

Yep, he is just trying to leverage a bit of pressure on the Chinese to tell the nutters in North Korea to pull their heads in and fair enough as well, you cant have the firing off ballistic missiles towards Japan and Sth Korea and mouthing off about developing nuclear war heads with impunity , the NK Communist Cronies are just trying to do all they can to stay in power and look powerful to placate the locals, they have thousands sitting in gulags, god knows what horrors will be revealed once the place gets freedom, it will put Rumania to shame.

Japan has a massive navy, part of which has joined up with the US Carrier group today.

There is only a cease fire truce in place between North and South, with a DMZ in between.

Bazza: yep, that is right. Exactlly, the same situation exists between Russia and Japan, Tokoyo will not sign a treaty because they want the island chain to the north returned; the islands, were, of course, occuppied by the Russians in 1945.

Yep the USSR made hay while the sun shined in 1945 and grabbed those islands while Japan was getting its arse kicked down south, they declared war on them right at the end and swept over the border.

Kim dumb Kunt is a very dangerous entity, agree NK is a basket case of a country that lets it's people eat grass to survive, but when the US/Japan/China push this batshit crazy MF to the brink, he'll push the button, what else would he have to lose?
