The excuse for SD having no supporters last year was their poor form. Now that they're red hot they still have no supporters. Please leave your excuses below.

Don't worry they are building towards 10,000 at the next "eastern derby".

No need to worry about the attendances Heater 19 and Bazza
The so called 'commission' have it all under control.
I think it 3 years ago they stated that the alignments " will generate more interest in the WAFL" . So don't panic guys! I'm sure the Wafl's supposedly governing body would never tell porky pies.

Considering we were zip and 2 that was a very good figure. I was guessing, no hoping, it was around the 2000 mark. Pity the home side were so disappointing.
Perhaps the curiosity factor kicked in re the new ground which looked great albeit not yet finished.
Now we are zip and 3 so I guess we wont quite reach the same heights this week but you just never know.

Considering most of East Perths old fans have deserted the club our away attendance was great. We outnumbered their fans 3 to 1 at least you would have sworn in was an SD home game. Thats what alignments do to ya.
There is no argument that SD have the biggest supporter base.
This is proven by a few interesting little facts
1) We out sell all other clubs in Merchandise (not my words but from the mouth of the guy who runs the business)
2) 20,000 Facebook followers, next best doesn't even crack 10,000. And only 2,000 less than the WAFL's page. Staggering in this social media world.
3) The biggest turnover of any club in the comp, again not my words but from our Presidents lips, he should know.

Goodnight

Perth is another huge base, and your loyalty is admired. Perth aren't fair weather fans either like South for example who were barely seen last week!

They are also the only paid advertised FB WAFL page.
You just need to look at the actual activity by followers on that page compared to other clubs to see that it is an inflated figure, but if it makes them feel big and boosts their ego good luck to them.

And to correct SwanDog, WP sells the most club merchandise. But again, if it makes them feel big let them have it.

How did Swans "buy" Facebook followers or likes Mr AFL?
I would have thought you would press like or follow because you actually like or follow a club not if you didn't like or follow them and i don't believe anyone has been forced at gunpoint into liking or following Swans on Facebook even if it is sponsored....do you?
Maybe Swans do actually have a big following if 21,000 have actually bothered to press like and or follow as you do actually have the choice in life on there to unlike or unfollow if you really want to.
