with this India debacle in it's final stages, who do people want to see go to England in June?

Warner - will stay, when on song scores quickly, though on those seaming UK pitches wouldn't Warner be better coming in at 6 scoring runs off tiring bowlers?
Rogers - another good season, played regularly for Derbyshire of late, averages 50 and too me goes on with the job unlike Cowan.....Cowan is a good team man, but not test standard!
Cosgrove - a fatty but got a good average in first class, another Lehmann like whose body type counts against him.
Hughes - not a huge fan, but at least the kid has showed some heart in the last two innings, mixture of dismissals with some jaffas, bad umpiring and poor shots.
Clarke - no brainer
Smith - showed some heart, hopefully his India experience will give him some confidence to build on his fledgling test career....
Mitch Marsh- do what they did with Steve Waugh, play him early and persist, his talent will come through in the end.....better than Watson and younger!, though Henriques will probably go ahead of Mitch!
Kahwaja -hopefully his homework stuff up won't count against him.
Paine- better keeper than Wade and pretty good bat
Whiteman- showed great character in some of those WA wins, won't get picked but geez would be nice if he did, Wade will be one of the 2 keepers in the squad.
O'Keefe- leading spinner in terms of wickets, reward players for doing what they are supposed to do....perform, can bat to!
Agar - pick players with ticker and ability, the kid has both in abundance
Lyon - will go as one the teams spinner, but would like to see Zampa the young leggie given a go.....I remember another young blond leggie do quite well in the UK a few decades ago! or perhaps that Victorian leggie from Pakistan could sneak a game?
Pattinson - fast, takes wickets and can hold up an end
Starc- unpredictable, but a leftie with speed and looks like he can bat ok down the order.
Siddle- work horse who has given great service these past few seasons
Bird - if fit could be that Anderson type to do some damage in the UK
Cummins - never fit I know, but geez some natural zip will put fear into any batter or perhaps young Singh from NSW as a smokey who knows!!
Usually take 17 players but the way Australia has been playing and the way our fast bowlers have a tendency to drop off like flys perhaps a squad of 20 is needed!!

Smokeys could be Silk from Tasmania, Singh, Maddinson and Zampa from NSW, Whiteman and Duffield from WA......but knowing Invers the likes of Cowan, Watson and Johnson will be on the plane!

It's going to be a whitewash I feel
Only inclement weather will prevent the poms from winning 4 or 5 nil
Our fast bowling stocks look ok
Siddle
Pattinson
Starc
Pick themselves
Bird injured?
Johnson was a disaster over there last time
Hilfenhaus could go OK there given the right conditions
Cummins will he be free of injury?
Harris I'm a fan of , underrated this guy I'd take him
Faulkner looks OK a chance to tour
Cutting maybe worth a look
Coulternile a smokey?
Spinners :
Lyon will go even though I think he is just a trundler , not enough tricks in his bag
Agar has to go as a future prospect
Doherty : see Lyon
O'Keeffe a chance I suppose
Batsmen:
Clarke the only class batter in the lineup
Cowan will go because there is no one else knocking the door down apart from Silk
Hughes will tour, see Cowan, the Poms will target Hughes big time on or just outside off stump
Kahwaja I dont rate him done nothing when he has been given a chance
Watson Is he going to bowl>? His test average is mid thirties with the blade, not worthy of a place as a specialist batsmen
He goes as an all rounder and bats 5 or 6
Smith Has shown some balls in India I'd take him
Henriques should go as an all rounder
Paine and Wade as the keepers
Shaun Marsh I rate , can he produce again at test level?
Mitch Marsh super talent but Is he ready?
Possibles :
Silk
Bailey
C. Rodgers
Voges
Maxwell

bowling isn't the problem .... but Agar has to replace Lyon ad I'd take the Fawad Ahmed if he's naturalised 100%

Time for new bat blood so I'd take Mitch Marsh , Alex Doolan , Tim Paine and even consider the mercurial Luke Pomersbach to be a Kevin Pietersen for us

I'd take Chris Rogers as backup for the openers coz there's not much else at the top

Forget Doherty , Lyon , Maxwell , Haddin - they're done as far as I'm concerned

BH you forgot Chalwell and Garlett to that list of 17 mate.....yeah I did to!!

I know they will go, but Watson and Cowan are non entities TBH, Watson has talent but no heart, whilst Cowan has heart but no talent, gotta have both in my mind. Sadly we are devoid of options and the selectors don't have the balls to do what they did years ago and pick guys like Healy, Boon, Waugh etc who were never say die characters with heart and talent.....that's why I'd go for the likes of Agar, Whiteman, Silk, Marsh(M) etc....yeah young but at least they have fight in them.....can't teach that.

Be intersted to see what happens, would really love for Australia to lose this series 4 -0, because if we win this test, it will put Australia's redevelopment program back another 5 years, because the likes of Cowan, Watson, Maxwell etc will be persisted with. I know you have to show faith, but Cowan is too slow, occupies the crease with little scoreboard damage and Watson is a forever waiting enigma, either open with the guy or tell him you bat at 6/7 and bowl 10 - 20 overs an innings.....or GTFOOH!!.....Maxwell is a product of T20.....nothing more nothing less!!

I agree with you freeze re Cowan & Watson but it just shows how little batting stocks we have at the moment that those 2 keep getting selected although just watching young Jordan Silk from Tassie in the Shield Final he looks like having a very solid technique & has scored 2 1st class hundreds from only 3 games so he could well be a smokey selection for England.
Maxwell, Doherty & to a lesser extent Henriques should never ever again be selected for a Test match just big bash/ 1 day players at best ..I would select both Tyler & Dayle for a baggy green before those 2 pie chuckers!!
