so DD...to really rub it in I take it you won't be going to the new stadium? or your kids to the new Childrens Hospital when it opens...or driving to the airport..or going to Northbridge City Link...Betty's Jetty or any of the other capital projects the $30b debt was spent on????

I have a sneaking suspicion that these union construction sites will have no further problems now that the election is over. No more mysterious lead, no more union fabricated drama.

Spot on, the Cfmeu and Asu spent a fortune to get these puppets in, everything will be sweet unless someone chucks the toys out of the cot.

Grassy but without Barnett's authoritative or some would say dictatorial style none of these landmarks would have ever got off the ground let alone built, the WA way has always been to procrastinate, sit on your hands, do an expensive report and then eventually do absolutely nothing at least Colin had the balls to make bold decision to actually build the bloody things for once!
These WA-Perth landmarks have now been built and or are nearly completed and nobody can ever take that legacy away.....thank bloody god!

Ohh please do you refuse to use the Perth to Mandurah rail line, do you get off at Ocean Reef Rd on your way to Joondy, do you refuse to see your favourite entertainer because they are performing at the Labor built Perth Arena? Very stupid arguments BC.

What I can tell you is Perth is a nightmare to get around Elizabeth Quay due to mostly single lane avenues around it. Colin's ego and determination to get his pet projects done with little regard to the consequences. I have spoken to a couple of people involved in that project that said not only a tunnel could have been built to maintain the Riverside drive link to the two major freeways and Stirling hwy but also a tunnel across the river to South Perth for a reasonable cost. Colin wouldn't listen because he was in a rush to get it started and built.

A tunnel underneath Elizabeth Quay is probably now a much more complicated assignment especially after the Carlton Ritz and other apartments and offices are constructed.

And now former Planning Minister John Day has plenty of time on his hands perhaps he should get himself a hard hat, a couple of knee pads and a couple of tyre levers and start ripping up those stupid rough sharp cobble stones all over Elizabeth Quay and Barrack Square.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Ive allways thought Colin Barnett was quiet a reasonable man. From the time he was R Courts deputy. He tried in difficult times to keep things moving.Time was defently up ysrda for Barney.
Row 8 a strange one given row 9 to complete the Freo link up was an expensive nightmare in the making. That hurt the government as stated by Baz already.

Agreed. Driving around there is a nightmare now. I do deliveries for my business frequently to the CBD and anything that has me go near there takes a lot of careful consideration. Utter madness a tunnel or traffic bridge (Labor's version if I recall) over it wasn't considered.

For a number of reasons the whole design has issues. Apparently in itself the quay isn't large enough.

Colin fluked Perth Stadium - while I agree with it generally I am still concerned at how quickly the possibility of contamination of the site was ticked off - just wondering if that will bite us in the bum one day.

Even if your suspicions are correct, they should Ark up if there are Still Problems with Hospitals and other things that Put Public Health and Safety at Risk.

They should remind the New Government not to get too comfortable with themselves.

The Libs shouldn't too smarmy about Allies who do if don't speak up.Heard of the Citizens Against Crime? The first thing I hear from them,in the early stages if McGowan's 1st Term,I'll go directly on the Phone to them and ask them,"Where the F**k have you been the past 4 years?"

Citizens Against Crime My Foot. They were as quiet as Church Mice for 4 Years, whilst the last government had 2 Houses of Parliament to Do Something about the Little Darlings running amok on our Streets! They said complete Stuff All,because they are pretty much a mouthpiece for the Coalition. And the Ineffective Social Worker Police Commissioner, whose time must soon be up.

The only thing that mob will be reminding this mob of is to keep the cash flows coming in , no ticket no start and keep the cops off our bloody backs.

Going to be a huge sting in Barnett's pride when McGowan cuts the ribbon at the opening of the hospital and stadium.

The highlight for me as far as this election is just about to happen.

That inbred moron Grylls is just about to lose his own seat.

GOLD!

it will be odd in deed, if McGowan is a true gent, he will pay tribute to Barnett at the time.
