Well we all know pollies are hypocrits, then one bloke comes along as "one of us "and says yeah im going save the environment (amongst other things, ala the U.S). So we believed him as he was a non pollie and spoke with passion. Then one Peter Garrett feathers his own nest and becomes a labor yes man. ( no more outspoke views now eh Pete) BUT WAIT, Peter leaves poltics rejoins midnight oil, and will not doubt go on his anti U.S rant, and the environemnet rant. I can excuse pollies as it expect that from them, BUT as someone who led us all on then folded, and then went back again, is worse than Shorten or Turnbull IMHO

If we are going to call anyone a hypocrite then the first person should be the former member for Bennelong John Howard. With bic backflips over One Nation perhaps he will get a spot on the gymnastics team for Australia in 2020.

Also, perhaps you can compare and contrast Malcolm Turnbull personal beliefs which are contrary to the position of his party.

Unka2 can we refine that promise further? That is, can you please commit to putting the Labor candidate in your electorate in front of the Liberal candidate in the Legislative Assembly.

As for Garrett,he went Downhill the day he left the Democrats for the ALP.That mob had him by the Balls,because he was just as much a Pain in the Arse to them,as he was the other side.They didn't recruit him for his idealism,but to control him.If he stuffed up,it was no skin off their nose.As it was,he did and in some cases he was hopelessly compromised by what his ALP superiors wanted and his Personal Beliefs.

If he rails at them later in life,they'll have plenty of Dirt to Dish back at 'im.Political parties( especially major ones) are a Bunch of Snakes,who know how to Shaft someone who may do the same to them,generally unintentionally.

Grassy as I pointed out to unka2 it doesn't matter who you put first as long as you preference Labor in front of the Liberals in the Legislative Assembly.
