I have my suspicions it was done to avoid paying the penalty rates wages on a Public Holiday/Sunday to the staff but it is only a suspicion. They did back in 2010/2011 as well.

Pity Peter Handscomb didn't hit ONE more run to get his Test average from 99.75 to 100.00. Someone deserves to knock off Bradman.

Zero chance of the Boxing day test ever being anywhere else but the MCG, Western Australia doesn't rate a mention over east and this was highlighted even more when I went to the MCG merchandise shop last week during a lunch break to get a Scorchers hat for the game v Renegades and they had every other franchise except Scorchers! This was the same in all the Rebel stores I went to and Etihad the next night, so East v West rivalry is alive and well

Done a few scenic train and tram rides?Trip to Hurstbridge takes an Hour I reckon. And is a source of fun on the D Gen's Elderly Citizens Operations. :silly:

Back in sunny WA now, travelled the Hurstbridge line into the city a number of times and rode a bike along the river tracks into the city from Rosanna Melbourne is more vibrant than Perth with more to do and the coffee so much better but couldn't live there as the weather is shithouse

Name any other Australian City that comes remotely close in that regard for starters
!

Better add the Formula One race & Australian Tennis Open. Often the Golf PGA at Melbourne PLUS Collingwod F/C which is hated by over 20 million people.
