Hahaha...yes I should have been a commentator, so I could put the curse on them. Although England are a completely shattered team I must say, hopefully they can stay that way for another 12 months......

bloody disgraceful -- one or two played ridiculous shots, including by Cook and Ali. It is the weakest England middle order I have ever seen.

England's team should be:

Hameed
Cook -- if he is staying
Jennings
Root
Hales or Ballance -- it was a pity jimmy taylor got sick
Bairstow -- keeper
Stokes -- seven is his correct spot especially against good bowlling
Ali -- he is not a spinner or a top order batsman -- can't hit the ball above his ankles
Woakes
Broad
Wood

It all saved Kohli from being very embarrassed for batting on and on and on.

Easy to throw it around as you have, but give some facts.

Obviously you dont take to critizism well but IAN CRAIG's record is very POOR.
He first played Test cricket aged 17yrs 8mths & scored 53 & 47 in his first match against South Africa. When he retired from Test cricket he had scored 358 runs in 16 innings at an average of 19.88 runs. Extremely poor for a Golden boy. That was my comparison to Maddinson.

BH: I think Jimmy is getting on a bit -- I would bring him out here, because as you say, he may bowl you that one spell which will win you a test match.

He is AR but he is still bowling well and can still spot a batsman's weaknesses and probe away at them. He was still swinging it at a decent clip in India before missing the last Test and we all know what he is capable of on his own decks especially when the conditions suit.

When it is a positive criticism, I will take that. But telling half a story is not telling tampering with the truth.Stats like what you are sprouting mean nothing until you tell the full story.
Obviously you have done some reading up on Ian Craig, but fail to tell the full story.Stats mean nothing.

And by the way you are still only telling half the story.Read about the player.

He retired at 26 in order to persue a career in the days where cricketers had to find jobs. You could argue that if he had played till after 30, his record would have looked a lot better given that this is what happens to many batsmen. He had more obstacles to get over than others

Which half of the story am I not telling?
" A career of great promise, it failed to mature. Bright beginnings were never followed by greater things"
He started in his first test on the MCG with 53 & 47 runs. He never played another TEST on home soil or bettered either of those scores abroad. Who cares about his school or 2nd grade games. He was just the youngest Test player. Nothing else..

Still no response from A/M. Could I be right?

Interesting to see if Cartwright gets a debut in the Boxing day test. Apparently its going to be hot in Melbourne so that wont harm his chances.
