Thought there might be a bit about those Aussies. Batted well & bowled well. Since all those Marshes dumped we haven't looked back in Test cricket. Maddinson looks under pressure & Lyon is just hanging in. Been reading a bit about Rodney & Kim. Dont think they are friends. Going to be a short weekend if a follow on is enforced.

Early days re test cricket, i think the Kiwis thumpded the pakkis before they came here. CAn only beat what is put in front of you though.

The problem with test cricket is that in general the home team is dominating series against an uncompetitive opposition. India are flogging England at the moment and they will do the same to Australia in February. Away teams seem unable to adapt to foreign conditions. The only exception to this of course is South Africa.

You must be lucky. I've been watching c9 & it's total crap always. Just praising each other on old ego trips. They kept on about declaring a lot earlier & bowling before tea. Totally against non NSW & QLD players. Need to dump A COUPLE AS THEY ARE SENILE.

The way the Ch9 NSW fan brigade were tying to make excuses for "their boy" Maddinson was nothing short of a joke and unprofessional for supposed critics.
The bloke has come in to the team as a specialist batsman batting at no.6 and has scored 5 runs (0, 1 dropped first ball, 4) from his 3 innings at an average of 1.66 and has just not looked up to the level of Test cricket in fact he only averages 36 in first class cricket as well.
Slater even tried to make some feeble excuse for his dropped catch on the boundary in Pakistan's first innings ffs.
Renshaw & Handscomb on the other hand have adapted to the level and look good long term batting prospects.

Really good response by Pakistan today.With 2 overs left today they have only lost 5 wickets today.With 3 wickets remaining they need 119 runs.There total in now the 2nd biggest 4th innings total in tests at the Gabba...

Shafiq just scored 100,,his 11th century in his 51st test.Now scored 100's in Australia,,South Africa and England..He can defend and he can hit the ball also.Also really liked the Captains 50,,,batted through a difficult period late day 3 and early day 4 against some good Australian bowling.Khan 65.

108 to get for an impossible victory. Not sure how good the last 2 batsmen are so Shafiq would have to get about 180 - 190 if they were going to do it. Very unlikely but they have certainly got some momentum leading into the Boxing day test. I was perplexed as to why Smith took the extra half hour as all the bowlers looked completely depleted and even though they got the extra wicket, it got Pakistan another 40 runs closer to the target.
