Today's latest poll was still very close.ALP 52\Lnp,Hanson 48.They say that poll does not or just deliver government for the Alp.The Emperor has not yet disappeared into the night. It was a Reachtell poll.
Labour has just over 9% swing they where thrashed at the last state election.Theres something wrong with the ALP in Wa.They thought last year's Federal election was going to be a big result for them.Only won 2 seats. And this horrible state government should be thrashed at this election.

Swan was a very positive result for Labor putting it in a position to almost certainly change hands at the next federal election. Of course that is helped by the appalling behaviour of the incumbent Steven Irons.

Also, as I pointed out previously if there is a Labor win in the state election and Turnbull withholds the "Roe 8" funds then most certainly a few more seats will fall to Labor. From a purely parochial point of view that would be WA's best hope for increasing its GST cut because presently the Liberals know they can treat West Australians with contempt as we continue to return Liberal members to the House of Reps.

Perhaps expresses the impotence and poor quality of the labor party in WA S42 !!

Not really it comes down to the conservative nature of WA in general.

As a counter argument one wonders what is the point of Cormann, Bishop, Porter et al given the WA GST cut.

Maybe it shows the rest of Aus how wise WA folk are by standing by the Libs...

Then why are Barnett and Nahan complaining about WA's GST revenue?

the GST calculation is poorly constructed given the 3 year lag in including royalties...Barney and Co weren't complaining when they were receiving a much higher GST share and royalties during the mining boom...so for mine its a bit rich to be jumping up and down now. in saying that, the eastern states should also include gambling revenue in their calculations to make it a level playing field.
