Theres bars yeah and prostitution goes on but its a world away from say Thailand which is just next door, btw you would of done about 5 yrs in Thailand if those speedos had a picture of the King on them with the laws there. Knowing Malays culture a bit I wasnt in the slightest surprised , tbh same would of happened in Indonesia Java I mean not Bali maybe, ffs a lot of Asian airports still have to have signs reminding bogans to wear a shirt inside.

Been to Malaysia a few times and find it quite an enjoyable place to visit. As for the "budgie idiots", I think a year in the Malaysian clink with 6 strokes of the cane would make them learn a bit of respect for os countries. While I'm far from a prude, I would be disgusted to go to a public event and see these idiots drop their dacks in front of my missus, daughter or grand daughters.

Geez boys take a chill pill and get down off your high horses. Yes these lads lacked some simple cultural behavior filters with their silly celebration of a great win by an Aussie abroad, but I bet not one on here can claim a clean and pure life with no silly or offensive behavior, I certainly cant, but I am aware of what other countries cultural sensitivities can be especially in Muslim countries.

The massive media beatup on this was just astonishing, surely there was more important news to report and that scumbag journo chasing them through the terminal on their arrival back home asking if their old school ran a course in moron, really he needs to have a good look in the mirror. Imagine a TV journo accusing someone of bad or immoral behavior!! They have short memories after that disgusting piece of chequebook journalism around the contrived child snatching incident.

Agree its a media beat up, but once they found out one of the clowns had political connection that was it free game.

SS its one thing to act stupid here and another OS in certain places, that's the whole point I think. When I have travelled I have seen Aussies making dickheads of themselves from time to time and you just think thanks idiot you just make it hard for other Aussies next time.

How would Aussies react if a bunch of drunk Malaysians undressed in to Aussie flag budgie smugglers at our Grand Prix??? pretty sure our PC brigade media would react with similar disdain...we are a nation full of holier-than-thou attitudes ourselves these days....respect works both ways

I don't think a bunch of drunken Malaysians would be arrested by Aussie police, held in cells for 4 days and paraded before the media DW. we've had issues with Malaysia since the days of Barlow and Chambers, Keating calling Mahatir recalcitrant when he refused to attend APEC. The Malaysians then threatened a "buy Australia last" campaign in retaliation if Keating didn't apologise....so it's not exactly been all beer and skittles with Malaysia...plus the push by fundamentalist Muslims within Government to become more conservative as a nation will probably mean things will only get worse.

I think you would get a billion to one about a group of Malaysians acting in that fashion.
