Are they playing these games on postage stamp sized grounds?.....Aust are the worst defending side ever for scores over 350 surely? At least Lehmann knows he hasnt got much depth in his 3rd string bowlers.....hopefully the likes of Paris and Berendhorff get a lookin this summer......Hastings is a trier but nothing more.....very poor mans version of Harris......whilst Boland, Tremain, Mennie and Worrall will probably only get look ins if guys like Cummins and Pattinson continue to be eternally crocked and Paris/Berendhorff dont survive the summer

...how Mitch Marsh bats aboves Head amazes me...hopefully Cartwright continues to improve and gives Marsh some decent competition for that allrounders spot...I assume Lynn is injured?.....

My son told me at the start of the series that South Africa would win this 5-0 and it looks like he may be right. By sending over the bowling attack that they have, the Aussies are really saying that they are not taking this seriously. Faulkner in particular has been missed ( is he injured or just rested) and I think he would have stopped the Proteas in their tracks when they were 6- 265. Great batting display by the Aussies. Galling to see it all go to waste.

Smith and Warner are the only players in that team any where near the requirred standard of international cricket. Head and Zampa should be kept in the team on potential.

A bit harsh on Finch and Bailey in particular AR. I think those two have proven to be pretty decent performers in a team that has been number 1 in ODI's for a while. Put Starc, Hazelwood Maxwell and Faulkner in that team and it would be a different series. I agree with you regarding Head and Zampa and I also think the selectors would be running out of patience with Mitch Marsh who has not really lived up to his potential over the past couple of series.

mikeh: good post, Bailey has a good record overall; Finch I regard as a good hitter whom gets away with a bit on good pitches. My main gripe, mike, is that, none of the side would get in the ODI team from twenty years ago. The country lacks depth in its cricket ranks, I am afraid

SA has played without Morkel, De Villiers Amla, and yesterday Parnell, and still won.
