I'm sure many people on here like me who are sports fanatics grew up listening to Norman May on the radio. He was one of the most excitable patriotic sports commentators ever and it was never more evident than his calling of many an Aussie swimming gold medal. The best memory I have of him though is when he called the Doug Walters 6 off the last ball of the day that sealed his century in a session at the WACA in 1974-5 v England. Norman got so excited that I thought he was going to faint!
He was an icon of Sports commentary and its ironical his passing just about co-incides with the retirement of the doyen of football commentators Dennis Commetti who has 3 more games to call.

RIP Norman.

Wonderfull memory's of Normans passionate and memroble sports calling..In the dark olympic era between 1976--88 Norman bought home all thoes hard won aust medals.And made the Comm games out of this world.Like Wally Forman and George Grulisitch, Norman will be long remembered.

Sad all these Icons are now passed, he was a real character.
