Jackson Bird was also on the tour but only to carry the drinks.
Where are James Pattinson & Pat Cummins at with their respective back problems I wonder?

Gee Jackson Bird would have been worth a go surely? Unlike Henriques he would have bowled and he might have scored a few more runs than Moises as well :S

Cummins is on track for the start of the Australian season. Not sure where Pattinson is at since he injured himself in NZ in March.

Coulter-Nile also had a nice holiday, maybe they could have been practicing spin bowling for something to do. Henriques averages 17 this year in fc cricket and batted for Australia at 5. Beyond belief

Just to highlight once again that the current chairman of selectors has always had an obsession with all-rounders, rightlly or wronglly, one should have a careful look at his career. During the 1970s, as most would know, WA insistted on playing two all rounders,Marsh himself and, Brayshaw.

Marsh batted 5 or 6

1968-69
5 7 0 106 56 15.14 - 1

Marsh batted 7

1969-70 8 13 1 473 99 39.41 - 4
1970-71 8 13 0 441 64 33.92 - 4

Marsh batted at five:

1970-72 6 9 0 333 79 37.00 - 3
1972-73 6 10 2 643 236 80.37 3 1
1973-74 7 12 1 205 58 18.63 1
1974-75 8 15 1 552 168* 39.42 1 1
1975-76 8 13 0 337 76 25.92 - 1
1976-77 5 7 1 216 104 36.00 1

Key from left:

aggregate runs
highest score

The man played superblly in 72-73, a season, which, indeed, is deserving of much praise from the cricket world. However, for a top six batsman, the rest of the figures are patchy to say the least; but, those figures should be kept in mind when people consider why players, such as, Hernriques, Maxwell, M. Marsh and others get picked in Australia's batting order today by the selection panel.

It is very interestting that none of the cricket fans have commentted on that fact that Smith has left his team behind. Surelly, I not the only one to have raised eyebrow?

For me, if he is captain he should be with his team. I agree with you, Grassy, about the other two tours which are taking place in Africa and the Caribbean.

Archie Jackson played a test match with TB in 1930.

grassy: yep, very sad about Archie; but, at least we have his 164 in 1929 and his 73 in 1930 to remember him.
