At last we can now get on with building a brand new World Class Burswood Stadium & a magnificent CBD waterfront- Elizabeth Quay. :cheer:
The New South Welshman shot himself in the foot over the whole moving the stadium, changing the waterfront affair & the WA voters let him know by the end result.
Sad to say as an old voter but the Labor Party has never been in as bad a shape as it currently is at Federal & State level.
If only they could find another quality leader ala the great Bob Hawke.

Actaually as much as i didnt like the man Paul Keating was a bloody clever cookie eh as well as Hawke. IF and i say IF, Julia had the BEST interest ofthe LABOR party in mind, she would stepdown. All pollies are lying pratts of this we know, BUT people stopped LISTENING to Julia ages ago.. just a selfish woman who cant see what "everyone" elsein the real world sees about her.

Ha ha Unka good on ya.

A few points.

1. With WA being the countries biggest economy, the threat of mining tax and the federal Labor govt threatening to cheat us of GST is a big issue for voters who have appreciated Barny standing up to Canberra. Julia is on the nose big time and she is a lead weight for any Labor leader atm but I think Mark McGowan is just as capable as Barny when it comes to standing up for WA.

2. Rarely do governments get booted out after 1 term unless they have done something seriously wrong. Barny is lucky he had billions to spend, it's a lot easier to run a business when you are tripping over money but remember, Barny is racking up a big credit card on our behalf and Barny won't be around when it all stops, he'll be soaking up the sun somewhere in Europe on his $100 000 a year plus pension when our credit rating takes a battering, the new 1 Billion dollar 60 000 seat stadium is chockers and needs to be expanded at the cost of another half a billion and there is chaos on the roads on a scale you couldn't imagine.

3. Barny won't be contesting the next election, hang your hat on that.

DD unlike your good self some of us have actually driven on roads from cities other than Perth ..believe me Perth people dont realise how good they have it, try driving in Sydney or Melbourne traffic from Australia alone!!
2 hours to get from one side of Sydney to the other, in Perth 30-45 mins max to do the same.
Metronet at first glance look's ok on paper but tell me how it was going to get traffic off your beloved freeway in the morning when existing train lines down the middle of the fwy cant entice those same people to catch the train now?

Are you kidding me BH? Standing room only after Edgewater train station on the northern line and people just can't get on the train after Whitfords or Warwick. There are not enough carriages to cater for the demand now. Barny has gloated about how fast our economy has grown and made Elizabeth Quay a top priority but fell asleep at the wheel and forgot about the impact 1000 people per week coming into WA would have on our roads and public transport system.

He won't be able to hide from the chaos the closure of Riverside Dr will cause. Can't wait for when that moment comes to bite him and his Planning Minister on the arse.
