For those who follow the round ball sport, how crazy was it that Iceland with only about 300 registered footballers and one of their coaches a part time dentist should knock England out of the European championships?
The irony wouldn't have been lost on Jamie Vardy who was in the England team. He was part of a Leicester team that did a giant killing act in the EPL this year.

Yes, and the English goalkeeper none too happy neither. Tiny Iceland beating the favourites in a historic upset would not be part of the script.
Apparently Iceland are no pushovers because they did beat Holland as well.
Just goes to show anything being possible.

I think these upsets are more likely to happen in a low scoring game like soccer, which in itself is a double edged sword. Ya get few goals in the game BUT because ya get few goals, upsets are more likely, which brings bit of "romance" ( think thats the term the sporting pundits use) to the sport

What an absolute disgrace

England are always to fragmented as a team, they appear to lack any team spirit, cohesion or real interest tbh.

I think they seem to have a few bludgers there as well.

Then there is Iceland, a small nation, proud and with a motivated native Icelandic group that all have the same thing in common.
