Absolute rubbish!!

Its a beat up for mine...PC going over the top again. It was all said in jest so Wilson needs to toughen up given the industry she chooses to be in. If it was a bloke they were talking about and not a woman it wouldn't have even made the news.

Eddy looks like hes out mouth before wicket again like the Adam Goodes saga a few years ago.It was only a joke nothing in it.I dont think he wants to drown Wilson in cold ice .

that's the whole point its not a bloke we are talking about...

we run adds on TV trying to make it clear that denigrating women is a bad thing ,( the one with the kids learning at a young age) and that things we might have thought were just suttle jokes ( the classic comment above, its just a joke said in jest ) and acceptable are contributing to a climate of acceptance of aggro against women.

Im no fan of Wilson , but I don't think we as a society can have it both ways.

As you know BC, I'm from the right and not at all a PC bandit , but I just think someone like McQuire should be smarter in the things he says...

One thing some people forget is that these guys were not just 3 yobbo's in a pub making stupid comments, they are 3 senior influential AFL figures ( two club presidents and an all Australian selector) broadcasting this stuff on a highly rated radio program, undermining the AFL message about verbal and physical violence against women which is a big problem in our society.

This incident yet again demonstrates the danger of people like McGuire and Brayshaw in particular holding down multiple roles in the media as well as being representatives of their clubs. Massive conflicts of interest arise there. Imagine if Steve Rosich and Trevor Nisbett were on the radio every week making idiots of themselves. They would be rightly condemned and sanctioned. But because its Eddie who has history ( remember when he referred to Goodes in the context of a king kong movie), the AFL doesn't have anybody with the guts to bring him under control.

so mate...unless I'm reading you wrong according to your previous it would have been ok if the joke was directed at say Robert Walls or Mike Sheehan but because its at a female, its not ok and we should treat her differently?
