Yeah whatever. I'm not a Dockers supporter but I think there should be some allowance as to the amount of travel they and the Eagles have to do during the season. Apparently not.

You may be right Mike, but what do they do? Most of the teams reside on the east coast. Both WA teams get their fair share of home games, but they both should get more than 1 game a year on the MCG. I'd like to see the colliwwobblers having to travel more to even things up, but money is more important than "sport" to the AFL heads.

And you're right swandog, if you want to make statements like "anywhere, anytime" then don't whinge.

Yeah but who is whinging 58 , Mikeh has already said he doesn't support Freo and i havnt seen an official statement from the FFC or Lyon.

Once the new stadium is built no reason why a home GF shouldnt be played their, the deal the AFL have with the MCG can GAGF.

Yeah lets play in front of a sellout crowd of 60,000 in WA, heck stuff it lets have the melb cup here as well, im sure the locals could get the track at ascot fit for racing by then!!

Mate it's not all about the Vics I'm sure 60k Freo and WC supporters wouldn't give a shit and btw the Melbourne cup is a crap anology has the VCR amalgamated with all the other states of Australia has it? so why would there be a reason to have the cup in any other state.

Ohh serioulsy how niave are ya PN, ya reckon in a $$$ driven business they gunna give up a 40,000 and the expection that our great game is played on one of the most famous stadiums in the world to play here?. Ohhh no lets share the Melboune cup around, lets change the name to the New Australia cup, just so we dont miss out here eh. At least if Sydney made the GF they could fit 90,000 at homebush, reckon that might happen too?. Ohh and the FA cup?, stuff it lets play it at Old Trafford, rather than Wembley. Moreso lets play the boxing day test here whilst we at it eh!!

No way will we see a GF anywhere but MCG - they're contracted for many years ahead and it will be renewed. As much as I hate the Victorian arrogance and self importance, they have one of the best facilities....world wide.

Yeah maybe I am naive until they get rid of at least 4 Victorian clubs and everyone plays each other twice clubs outside of Melbourne will be disadvantaged.

I can use anologies as well mate you know like the Super Bowl is played at the home Stadium NBA, Baseball World Series and pretty much any other sport in Australia.

Toughen up 58, the Eagles had 1 game at the MCG during H&A.
They made the grand final.
Then again they are a better side than the Shockers aren't they!
Sadly the Dockers have had their one GF for a while.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!

Unka they actually will one day play the grand final away from the MCG, it is as sure as tax and death. Once the contract runs out it will not be renewed. It will be done to a host city bidding system the same as in America. The smaller crowds won't matter as the host city will be putting in millions to host it which will far exceed the income of paid tickets. I suspect the GF will every second year be at the MCG and every other year be hosted by another state. But this is still many years away as the MCG contract does not expire until 2032 I think. But it will happen and you would have to be very naive to think otherwise. Crowds don't matter, money matters now and more money can be made by having cities bid on it.

I agree GWS...the television audience makes bums on seats at the GF irrelevant...60k, 90k, 100k...big deal when there's millions tuning in and all the advertising revenue that goes with it. The Super Bowl is played at a different venue each year with various seating capacities so why can't our GF?

Didn't you know it had subclauses, like excluding the Hawks in finals time.
