WHAT IT MEANS FOR VIEWERS
Over the course of the season there will be 11 fewer home and away games on free-to-air TV, with Thursday night football set to be significantly enhanced as a showpiece fixture.

The other major change is one of the Saturday afternoon fixtures is moved to 3.20pm, designed for Foxtel to on-sell to a free to air network as a lead in to the 6pm news.

I haven't watched any channel 7 footy for I guess 3 years now. Their coverage is not great with so many delayed games, which I find just baffling. With foxtel I get every game live and it costs me about $25 a week or $3.50 a day however way you look at it ($0.14 cents an hour ). I justify it by not going out as much and wasting my money on stuff I don't really need. Its worth it if you love your footy. Its a complete coverage. We even get EPL games live which I don't mind watching at times, plus a heap of other sports.

I will never bother with 7. Foxtel shits all over them, just being honest.

Me too...avoiding Basil and Barich even at a cost is money well spent

Have copped Basil a few times Anchor but glad to tell you I haven't heard but a whimper from Barich all year

Love my Foxtel,always live and they show every single game....channel 7 can get fu##ed!

I put Basil into the same category as Bwooce. PATHETIC.

They have to use the seven commentators a-man being a channel 7 allocated game, just like when Eagles and Freo games are Foxtel allocated games, and its shown on channel 7 with the Foxtel commentators. The point is Foxtel show it live. Ive seen channel seven games on fox live, then found out they have the same game on delay on seven. So Foxtel show the 7 game before bloody 7 themselves do!!! Its laughable.

Considering Channel 7 have Seven Mate, Seven Two and the Normal 7, you would think they would show all the games live over all these stations. Especially considering they pay BILLIONS for the rights. But as a result people like me have jumped ship completely and are now locked in with Foxtel. I aint looking back

Im with you, i honestly dont know how people survive without foxtel, for sport free to air is crap, apart from what you have mentioned , ch 7 is just all adds, remember the friday night delayed farce,,,ffs, also i love the EPL, which is great to have through summer.
