As I am writing this it is looking highly possible that Australia will be beaten in 2 days in the 3rd test. Warner is playing a lone hand as did Rogers in the first innings but apart from these two the batting has been totally inept against good but not unplayable bowling
With Smith failing twice in this match, the cracks in Australias middle order have been exposed. Clarke can't buy a run at the moment and Voges is not up to it Imo. Sorry a century against a woeful west indies doesn't count. Shaun Marsh should bat 4 in the next test and Clarke drop to 5 where he has a better record.
Oh well we can only hope for a miracle. While Warner is still in there's hope.

Describing this batting as pathetic is being far too kind Mike ...I would start at inept!

We are on track to be bowled out twice inside 2 days can you believe it? ..The Don would be turning in his grave at this complete and utter inept group.

Didn't Clarke dare the poms to turn out a green deck earlier this week in the press. Good call from our great leader by the sounds of where this one is heading.

Both innings I have had to listen to Warne & Slater wax lyrical about how good Clarke was looking at the crease  ...I could just see the late great Richie rolling his eyes at what is left of his beloved commentary team!

Hard to see them rebounding from this humiliation although thats what I thought about the Poms when they lost the 2nd test so who knows. Also I think Clarkes lack of runs is affecting his decision making as a captain as well. He made some very strange moves in the bowling changes which contributed to that 8th wicket stand getting away from them, particularly not bowling Hazlewood for 2 hours and over bowling Johnson.
As for the channel 9 'commentators' (cheer squad?) I am blissfully unaware of what they are saying because I watch it with the sound turned down......If I want decent commentary, Jim Maxwell and the BBC guys do the trick. Warnie should stick to Battery Ad's

Warne' s love for Michael Clarke is seriously disturbing! :S
Drops a sitter at slip, hasn't made a run all year and decides to finally bring Johnson on with Eng 1/47 chasing only 121 and good ol Shane still singing his praises!

Agree mate should of hit them with the best from the beginning.. Strange decisions

Maybe Shane is tweeting Clarkeys wife while he is over there :)

there is always hope.. not much but Bell was a handy one..

Can never forget when Aust needed 110 and Botham got 9 wickets to bowl Aust out. Correct me if I am wrong with the figures as just working on memory//
But as you say BH we should of attacked earlier.

Next test should be a good one.. a must win

That would have been 1981, where there were some funny results. At Headingly Botham got 150 but Australia were only chasing 130. Willis took 8 - 43 as the Aussies were bowled out for 111. Then in the next test at Edgbaston, Australia were only chasing 150 but Botham took 5- 11 and the Aussies were all out for 121 ( ironically what England are chasing here but no chance of any repeats here)

I think the Aussies need to have a good hard look at their batting line up for the next test. I think Sean Marsh deserves a go and Peter Siddle may also come into contention ahead of Starc or Hazlewood who have both been expensive in this test.
