For mine the best non regular WAFL grounds in the Perth metro area are-

1. John Dunn Oval- Kelmscott FC
2. Gosnells Oval- Gosnells FC
3. North Fremantle Oval- North Fremantle FC
4. Kingsway Reserve- Kingsway FC
5. Wanneroo Showgrounds- Wanneroo FC

Gotta agree with the first 3 but Gozzy first ofcourse haha

Not sure about Kingsway as i popped an ACL there in 94

I reckon the Showrounds at Claremont..the game WP lost by a point in about 05 i think was a ripper and the ground came up great!

Being an old Freo Sunday league boy I can't go past North Freo (Gill Frasier)

That old stand,the history,a big crowd,the odd scuffle - still get's me blood boiling (Whippy,Chooky,Kenny,Frank,Harpo,TC,Stan Omodei and the Rose Hotel - Shit they were good days !!!)

Mills Park- Kenwick FC
Settlers Hill Oval- Baldivis FC
Wyong Reserve- Canning/Vic Park/South Perth FC
Ray Owen Oval- Kalamunda FC
Berehaven Oval- Thornlie FC
Inglewood Oval- Mount Lawley JFC

Yeah mate I agree ..I actually made it my number 1 ground outside of the WAFL oval's.

Used to love playing at Gil Fraser with the change rooms under the old stand, btw that stand would have to be close to a hundred years old.

But i can't go past my own stomping ground Light St reserve in Dianella, probably one of the biggest surfaces in the Amatuer league, i would say the dimensions would equal Lathlain.

PN I had the pleasure of playing both football & cricket at Gil Fraser.

The old grandstand is just a treasure.

When I played cricket their the turf wicket was sensational. Nice and flat, I actually made some runs on it.
