So "brave and courageous" ( were the footballers) along with 4987 pages on the effect on everyone from the cleaner to the players about the death of Phil Walsh. Use the word brave and courageous to people who put thier lives on the line for country and thier fellow man in wars etc. Should have been quiet and respectful, but NO, the media turn the whole thing into a bloody circus. The irony is rather than making it classy and respectful, they actually cheapen the whole incident.
Of course it was a tragedy of a death.
In retrospect its a pity this sort fanfare didnt extend to a truly brilliant individaul like Fred Hollows, who actually spent his life saving peoples sight.

whilst obviuosly a tragedy...... more of a concern for me is Walsh was so well respected for mentoring young men....and yet he is stabbed to death by his own son!!.....one would think the lad must have some mental health issues ora big hatred towards his old man to want to stab him....not once either......interesting to read Walsh himself said his committments to footy over the last decades had a negative impact on his relationship with his son......guess the son had had enough!

Unless you personally know the man and his son your comment is just total guesswork. Family violence is a real issue in society and this murder is the tip of the iceberg but it has just got more attention because it was a public figure involved. There are very complex issues in why someone might take the step of allegedly ( don't forget that word)murdering your own father and it may have had nothing to do with the relationship between the father and son, there may have been lots of other factors which will no doubt come out in the trial. In the meantime I don't think it is helpful to speculate on why people might take this sort of action when we don't know the facts.

And one has to be asking why has the mainstream media made a circus of it? I'm sure that's not what the fellow would like!

Yeah true mikeh........never said murder tho mate.......just said stabbed to death by your son is a terrible way to die for a fella who was well known within the footy industry for being a mentor for young men........who knows what happened and who or what provoked who.....no smoke without any fire........the only two who know what, where and why it happened are Walsh and his son.....everything like you say is mere guess work and speculation......something must of made the kid see red.........

I think you're right unk. The man was obviously a lovable person and earned untold respect. I would imagine that he would be absolutely horrified that the media used his death to simply sell papers and air time. We certainly live in a sad world.
