I know that Dyson Heppell said they are playing for the coach but yesterday it did not look as if all the players on on the same page as him. Watson and Goddard looked as they were not happy with something. On multiple occasions Essendon's chase, effort, attitude and thought process were way off.

Do you think Hird should go? Maybe the whole ASADA thing would not have happened if he did not have the attitude of "Do what ever it takes to make me look good". Perhaps the Weapon was correct on everything.

They obviously played for Bomber.

No KK...Hird is not the man for the job. I think it is a disgrace that he's even allowed to be in the AFL system after what has transpired over the last few years. He should have been shown the door when the whole supplements saga raised its ugly head. The fact he's still coaching is an indictment on Essendon and the AFL as a whole.

Spot on BC, but his arrogance and hubris is a big thing at EFC

The Essendon fans reckon he did nothing wrong and were strongly against him getting the flick during the supplements saga, so stuff them while he's there the club is going nowhere sign him up for anther two years lol.

Looks like the shite is starting to rub off BUT it was more like an avalanche. Disappointing but the end is a Little closer after the Saints effort.

Essendon may pop up with a good win here and there for the rest of the season but the dark cloud of the supplements cheating will never go away until a broom is put through the club and every person be they coaching staff or admin that is associated with that period is gone, that's the only way a once proud club will ever move on and be given any sort of respect or credibility from the wider football community. While Hird continues to put himself and his own selfish interests ahead of those of the club he purports to love, they will continue to be an AFL pariah.

I think that after the AFL tribunal found the case not proved, the Essendon players were lulled into a false sense of security. They were perhaps mislead and weren't advised well about the likelihood of an appeal by WADA. Once WADA announced they were appealing I think the Essednon players got a good dose of reality and it dawned on them that they may will be facing a two year ban. Subsequent to that I think they have lost all incentive to perform.

If Hird actually loved Essendon & those players, he'd resign.

It would make a significant difference at Windy Hill, despite the oncoming WADA stuff. That joint needs to clean the slate in a huge way. And it starts with him.

In every other scenario in a sporting club the buck stops with the head coach. So why didn't it this time?

I never understood how he kept his job, anyways I would say he will be gone by seasons end.
