Never a great believer of that NSW blue cap - Baggy Green myth but just read at the recent u/16 nationsl schoolboys cricket carnival that 6 NSW boys got selected in the end of carnival 13 manA/A squad.....the leading batsman and boeler a SA & WA boy respectively missed selection, yet one Austin Waugh from NSW got selected after scoring 47 runs and taking 7 wickets after 5 matches....yeah NSW won undefeated but the leading bat averaged late 50's and the WA paceman took 19 wickets at 9 ........bit rough on those boys not being NSW born and bred

It started with Richie Benaud as captain. Did you just wake up?

Freeze -- interesting. In regards the myth, the fact is they dropped Mckenzie when he was close to Benuaud's record against India in 1968-1969. Then they bowled him into the ground in India and South Africa the following year. The next year he faced Luckhurst, the great Boycott and Edrich -- it was much harder getting them out than the Indians of 1968-69.

In more modern times, if anything, I think they have favoured WA players. GR Marsh played more test cricket than he should have played. I have the same view on SE, but I hope he goes well in England.

BUT the most spoiled of the modern era SR Waugh and today, S. Watson was/is from NSW.
