Nice story tucked away in the West today about an incident in the aftermath of Saturdays game at Mt Barker. Apparently both teams had each hired a bus to get them back to Albany, but the Swans bus broke down on the way. Luckily the Claremont vehicle went past and picked up the stranded Swans guys. There was much mirth when Anton Hamp invited Justin Simpson to sit next to him. They were opposed to each other during the game so you would imagine that the conversation would have been more pleasant than earlier in the day t

Luckily the Claremont guys were pretty benevolent because they had won, they may have sailed past if Swans had snatched the 4 points!

Good to see some socialising between opposition teams after a game even though this was involuntary

Do clubs invite opposition players into their members area for post match presentations as a rule? Would be interesting to know if East Perth players were invited into the WP clubrooms after Saturdays game and if so how many took up the offer

Go figure - Bill apologised to him personally from the podium at speech time for any unkind comments he might hear and this EP supporter tipped his glass to bill in acknowledgment and let a big smile pass over his face
