Sad to hear about the death of 1956 premiership player Billy Roe.He was one of the first players to come down from the territory.His son Willie also played wafl in the eighties with both East Perth and the Bulldogs.Never saw him play but apparently he was quick.

Willie kicked 8 goals in one match for EP very early in his WANFL career - the next year he walked out on the Royals and Brownie couldn't get his signature fast enough , he was liquid lightning on two legs mate , played in jumper number 48 for South I think from memory although I recall he may have taken the legendary Maurice Rioli's number 49 for a while too
He was a match-winner with sublimely brilliant skills

Did Willie move down to wear No.5 later in his career at SF Southy?

Yeah he did actually mate - after Neil Randall retired & I think that was either 1984 or 1985 wasn't it?
