The incident mentioned involving Bushell and the elderly trainer would have to be one of the most disgraceful acts I've seen on a football field in the WAFL.

Ease up Bob Shields never spat on any one.

One of the fairest players the game has seen.

Kelvin Payne is (should I say was) a relative of mine. Jesus I'd hate to get flattened by him. He was - and in fact still is - the size of a house with a mean streak a mile wide.

He came out to Lathlain for a rare visit with his daughter (who incidentally married an EF player!) a season or two back.

Not one but twice.Shield was warned about some saliver he was using around the place.Turkey told him if he didn't stop then things might happen.But Shields must have been a bit slow because he did it again,and spent some time on his rear end.
What about the poor kid from Perth who TI cleaned up at Lathalain in the kids first game.Not sure of his name but could have been Kelly.
I still remember the grand stand shaking down at Freo one day when we played Swans.Boucher and TI took each other on close to the half forward flank Fremantle end.They were like two bulls,The hit and both went down.TI got up and continued to play,Boucher didn't play for the next 4 or so weeks.It was a bone crusher.

As much as I dislike the Cardinals. I always remember, with a level of sadness beacause in any other team i would have rated him much higher, but back to the story, was the hit of Bradley Smith (I think) on Brian France. I think France polled so well in the Sandover that he nearly won it after having miossed the best part of the second half of the season.
