Channel 9 at 7:30pm tonight is a show about Perths Sensational Seventies!
Might be a real trip down memory lane for us old farts. The guide actually highlights the fact it includes old WAFL footage. I sense it wont be much but worth a look. Might see a few sideburns with bad cardigans walking thru the turnstiles.

Hoping it's shown on WIN. They do a lot of 9 programming.

Often question my old boy about what the fcuk they were thinking wearing combinations of all that brown, yellow, orange and cream coloured clothing back then let alone the bloody wallpaper everyone was using. Cricket get up had a little bit goin for it though....love the old kits although that might have been 80's. Those screamingly tight footy shorts resembling modern day hipster jocks needed to go whilst the old WAFL jumpers without sponsor logos in every corner certainly get the heart pump'in...as you say Jardine worth a look if for nothing more than to remind the old man a few things have improved

I remember for wanfl finals standing behind the goals crammed in like sardines. We used to take in one of those big white foam eskys with the light blue lids. Very popular back in the day. And the wanfl club jumpers had collars back then too :P

generally filled with steel cans too. wasn't an issue back then.

We didn't have a line of turbans in flourecent shirts sticking their faces in there at the turnstiles either. Good innocent times, loved it.

For those who didn't see it (probably most of Perth), one film clip showed John K. Watts' radio partner Barry Martin wearing an East Perth t-shirt. Surprising, considering Martin was a Claremont supporter.

Then a bit of film of a dust up between East Fremantle & Perth

The show ended with Wattsie saying Polly Farmer was a better footballer than Nic Naitanui, although he did admit Nic Nat is pretty good too.

Finally Wattsie also admitted that he wrote the Geelong FC song, the Swan Districts FC song and as he put it, of course the mighty East Perth FC song. He then proceeded to sing the EP song.

I wonder what Channel 9 thinks about the ending now.

Oh and Southerner, you are definitely right about Karen Pini and also Penthouse's Cheryl Rixon, who I'm pleased to say went to my old High School.
