Yep, Watto has definitely got a photo of someone. The "big show" to me is the "big no show". The commentators rave on about him, but I can't remember the last time I saw him do anything of note. Faulkner is the one that is the big show.

And more to the point, these one day cricket matches are more focused on providing 'entertainment' to the masses. That is the main reason. And most people get caught up with all the hype and the party type atmosphere that is purposely generated into the matches. The events advertising company has objectives they need to meet from just a day at the cricket into a day of entertainment, excitement, non stop socialising and of course unforgettable cricket moments. Rule changes, shorter boundaries etcetera facilitate all this. Some players not scoring freely, looking disinterested, playing poor shots is all secondary. All the cricketers, I would imagine being on a contract? Would be being paid regardless. It's all to do with big business and not so much the players mentality.

As much as I love 50/50 and 20/20, this is the results. Glitzy cricket.
