Three changes-out Clarke, Harris & Siddle. In S.Marsh, Starc & Hazelwood
So the team is: Warner, Rogers, Watson, Smith (C), S.Marsh, M.Marsh, Haddin, Johnson, Starc, Lyon, Hazelwood.
Think Starc has a test 90 so batting has depth. India failed to bowl the Aussies out twice in the 1st test. Hopefuuly the Gabba wicket is a green top as the Aussies are faster than they were in the 1st with the inclusions. Rogers & Watson lucky to keep their places. Looking forward to this after the events of the last 2 days.
We also have the 20/20 Big Bash to watch, summer and cricket and a couple of cold ones......gotta love Australia....if not leave!

early days I know but Aust bowling attack missing Ryan Harris penetrative bowling.....and not too sure of the wisdom playing both Starc and Johnson.....if not taking wickets they can leak runs pretty fast.....congrats to Marsh on his first test wicket.....hopefully Smith makes Watto earn his pay packet tho!......he usually jags a wicket when the opening bowlers cant....or is that Marsh's job now as the sides number one allrounder! :cheer:

The same 2 umpires from the 1st Test are umpiring again & already a howler of a decision. Their 1st Test umpiring decisions were horrendous.

Injuries to fast bowlers makes it hard to win,

Steve Smith will remember his first test as captain, we haven't lost at the Gabba for 26 years before this test.........Bowling first and the other side getting to 4 for 300 isn't good, only getting through 82 overs is shithouse.

Who captains next test if he is suspended for 1 game for poor over rate

Are our fast bowlers fit enough and by that I mean Test Match fit?
Are they playing enough first class Sheffield Shield cricket to have them ready to step up to Test Cricket?
I would suggest not as there is far too much emphasis put on Big Bash & Matador Cup by Cricket Australia while in the meantime we have had Harris, Siddle, Starc, Hazlewood & Mitch Marsh get injured or cant bowl for extended periods in only 6 days of Test Cricket played so far this Summer!

Good to see Hazlewood snag a 5 for on debut.....the left arm duo of Johnson and Starc were awful.......or just awfully unlucky perhaps.....lots of shots went just astray of fielders hands.....Vijay got 144 but christ he was lucky at times, how Lyon didn't take his off stump early on in his innings I'll never know......Rogers and Watson need to step up big time TBH.....but then again with Marsh injured, Watto is safe till the Sydney test.

Totally agree with you BH......just amazed in the middle of a test series the rest of Australia is playing the big bash!.....well at least the bowlers will be fresh if called up......though batting wise could be a problem.....

Some serious question need to be asked as to what is happening with injuries. I can only remeber Lillee and Wayne Prior injuring themselves, perhaps Wayne Clark. Thomson and Alderman both injured from body clashes.
How good is Smith? Impressive. Rogers should have saved his spot. Watson???? If the selectors say he's out guarantee he'll use the DRS and wob't walk. Marsh's injury may buy Watto time.
Who'd have thought Lyon would be the leading wicket taker after 3 innings with 15 wickets.
Hazelwood, what a debut. Bright future if Pattinson & Cummins can get themselves fit. Harris so good but injuries all the time.
Great test match, although the Aussies looked a little flat at the start.

geez Haddin needs to go......yeah he took 6 catches....all regulation ones TBH....Nevill or Whiteman could of easily snaffled those.....Haddin is a liability with the bat....fark I'd even bat Starc and Johnson higher than him......with the BB in full flow no way Haddin will go during this series......which means he will be a cert for the Ashes :( .....with Australia's current top 6, they need a wicketkeeper who can bat or even hold down one end for more than 20 mins!

Haddin will have until the 3rd test before the axe finally falls, they need him to help Smith out. Can't see him going on the Ashes tour.
Johnson, Starc, Lyon & Hazelwood added close to 200. Starc was an openner for NSW under 19s hence his skilll with the bat.
Indians must be getting worried with their bowlers, they failed in both innings of the first test to bowl the Aussies out, this test the Aussies got 500.
Johnson still seems all over the place, too round arm this innings. Hopefully he gets his mojo back.
Smith, what can you say, outstanding.
