Maybe you should of read it considering I'm agreeing with you, you've never played the game either.. with the greatest of respect.

Why even make the statement then if you don't believe it? Sorry mate I have flown off the handle on this one because it shits me so much to think anyone will fuck with our game and stuff it up because if enough people who no nothing whinge then it gathers strength and all of a sudden like the bump in aussie rules the bouncer will be dead. Nothing personal on you though

Even so, read the comments and you'll see the majority see it your way..and those that don't still have an interesting point of view.

At the end of the day, the game will go on as is, and it already has

The point missed is that professional players are paid & under WORK COVER they need a safe & healthy place to ply their trade. The shit hasn't hit the fan yet. ONE death is ONE too many.

Its not cricket.

To my knowledge there is no rule against bouncers in baseball, but to pitch one would be stupid.

If a pitcher was to pitch a bouncer, there would be very little chance of it going through the strike zone. The bounce would most certainly go above the catchers reach. A catcher is much closer to the batter than a wickey.

A stray bouncer would mean If there were runners on base, it would provide ample opportunity for the runners to advance, and the possibility of a runner on second base, let alone third base would be able to score by crossing the plate.

A bouncer has no place in the game of baseball. It is a unique part of cricket.

no mike...I meant why aren't head high pitches allowed in baseball? i didn't mean bouncers. if you pitch a little chin music in baseball not only will it be called a ball but you'll get an irate batter heading towards the mound.

I do see your point BC, but "chin music" is normally the result of a pitch being thrown a little stray. Having said that, I'm not saying a they haven't been thrown on purpose.

A bouncer is bowled on purpose (in most cases), and as I mentioned in my previous post, a unique part of cricket.

Quite often with American's they charge the mound puff up their chest and do nothing. Its pretty funny when they do it down here in Australia, confront an Aussie on the mound to find he'll land one on your chops. :S

Sorry BC, that example is covered in cricket, see what happens if you bowl a beamer at the batters head, the umpires now remove players who beam a batter and don't allow them to bowl again......Not sure exactly on the ruling in regards do they get warned first, but your not allowed to deliberately bowl at a batters head in cricket.

If the ball bounces and gets effected by the wicket, that's a different situation entirely, and one of the reasons why cricket is unique. I cant think of another sport where they throw the ball into the pitch or wicket before the batter hits it.....

So there are already rules in place for your example already,
