Amazing that in a country with several hundred thousand cricketers we can't find 2 decent spinners that can take advantage of pitches like these.

Peter -- Brendon Julian has been complaining about the pitch since Pakistan hit their first boundary: 'is this pitch good for test cricket'? For goodness sake. Next summer, should India cave-in with the bat, there will not be any Australian commentators questioning whether the local pitches are 'good for test cricket'. They will be talking about Australian greatness, and more correctly, about the inability of the modern player to play off the back foot, particularly those batsmen from the sub-continent. The fact that most of our boys can't play off the back foot either, will be lost on most until we play England and South Africa; that is, bat against a decent pace attack.

It is good to see Marsh doing well

Faark me BJ the way you lot have been carrying on I would of thought it might of been someone relevant to Australian cricket not a Adrian Barich clone.

There's been no complaints from the Aussie cricket camp regarding the pitches, Boof has aknowleged that the batsmen have been getting out to straight deliveries nothing to do with doctored pitches.

Peter: I have never said the players have complained -- people on here and in the media have complained about the pitches -- referring to it as 'dung heap', for example; read my comments more carefully, please.

It might not be a great track for spinners. all the pakistani bowlers seem to be doing well on a track some are saying is a road.anyway the pakistani batsmen play spin well, so having a decent spinner or two or three may not help if your batting line up is not up to it.

the big positive to come out of this tour is that Maxwell will never play test cricket again.....lovely little cameo though Big Show the other day......Haddin surely at 37 must be shown the door and a younger keeper drafted in......gotta feeling Hartley is gonna get the job but Whiteman surely is the future.......Lyon needs to go back to Sheffield Shield....work on this "mystery ball" and take a shed load of wickets before he gets another decent run at test cricket......that's 3 so far......

can't really see Marsh and Watson picked in the same team.....but what the hell hey?......let Watto pass on all his knowledge to Mitch before Watto calls it a day ;) ...Siddle.....great work horse....but hey that's all he ever will be....time to blood a Sandhu, Berehndorf, Hazlewood type youngster who bowls straight......let Ryano take one of them under his wing and show them how to bleed for your country AND take wickets.....Siddle bleeds for Oz.... but just doesn't take enough wickets!!

batting wise....fark knows.....anyone got any ideas......feel free.

Let's hope you are correct with that statement.

Like your summation freeze. Maxwell seemed to think he was going to win the test in less than 20 overs. He's back at the crease as I write - let's see how he goes. Rogers has to be a goner. Also agree about Siddle - everyone gets a hard on about him being such a workhorse, but you gotta take wickets as well. Shit, there we go....bye bye Maxwell, Aussie 2 for f/all. As for batsmen, don't know a lot about the interstaters, but we've got a couple of good, upcoming lads over here. Their problem will be that they come from the wrong side of Australia. Good God,it looks as though the Aussies have no effin idea how to play spin.

This series has been nothing short of embarrassing for us.
Completely outplayed by the Paki's in every facet of Test Cricket- batting, bowling, fielding, keeping & patience!

Sandhu?? Are you serious?? Not sure he is in the Berendorf, Hazelwood group just yet, they are strike bowlers. Apart from Berendorf or Coulter-Nile I would give Fekety or Rainbird from Tassie a gig ahead of Sandhu at this stage
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!
