what did you want Clarke to do terror.....have the traditional 3 slips, gully, cover point, mid off, mid on, mid wicket and fine leg all day on that Abu Dhabi flat track mate?.....the guy was getting desperate by the end......damned if you do something.....damned if you don't do anything......the life of a cricket captain.....LOL......as for the selectors?.....

geez is Maxwell really going to bat in Aust top 5.....in a test match?......hopefully he plays it like a T20 match..... ;).........prove me wrong "The Big Show".....please prove me wrong!!

Anchorman: that is what test cricket is suppose to be about -- winning the toss, batting and grinding the opposition into the dirt. Goodness, in 20s and 30s cricket used to be played to the end ie. no draws -- magnificent. If we are good enough, in this day and age, we can save our cricket honour with a draw. We shall see.

Very disappointing to see the Aussies copping a belting, but make no mistake Unk, if they were over here and not on their flat tracks, the result would be very, very different. Would love to see Aust v Pakis at the WACA :woohoo: :woohoo: I think you'd see HUGE white eyes peering out from under the visor

Spot on 58 the Paki's have certainly got our measure on their dung heaps doesn't matter who the Aussies play on the sub continent they always struggle, so I'm not to worried about possibly going down 2 nil to the Paki's.

As you say the Paki's would struggle to last 3 days on our wickets, and I reckon the Indians will get pumped 4 nil in their upcoming tour against us on our true and bouncy wickets.

Naturally, we would expect to win most times on the faster pitches; this is the nature, of test cricket: it is diverse; it is why Aussies complaining about the pitches in the Middle East on an international station embarrasses the cricket community of this county. It is not the pitches, rather it is Australia's mediocrity on the field. If they lose 2-0 to a very inexperienced Pakistan bowling side it will be a very poor result.

Been going on for years, i remember when the west indies had that fearsome attck, and made pitches over there to help. Thing is in those days we didnt whinge. Copped what they served up, and so be it. who cares if and when they play here, and whether they crap em selves or NOT. Thats the future , our sooky sooky la la, is as AR said an embarrasement to our sporting reputation

UNKA2 -- Correct, sir -- it is bloody annoying

Peter -- Brendon Julian has been complaining about the pitch since Pakistan hit their first boundary: 'is this pitch good for test cricket'? For goodness sake. Next summer, should India cave-in with the bat, there will not be any Australian commentators questioning whether the local pitches are 'good for test cricket'. They will be talking about Australian greatness, and more correctly, about the inability of the modern player to play off the back foot, particularly those batsmen from the sub-continent. The fact that most of our boys can't play off the back foot either, will be lost on most until we play England and South Africa; that is, bat against a decent pace attack.

It is good to see Marsh doing well
