I won't name the player concerned in this post as I don't wish to embarrass him. Even though this player was obviously disappointed not to make the cut for the Grand Final side, he still had the decency to show up and support those that were in the team. This alone shows a great attitude.
We had a really good chat on Sunday and I can tell you that as this young man's ability improves to match his attitude, he will be a very difficult player to leave out of the team.
From a member/supporter point of view, it is often the respect (or lack of) that the players show us that makes a difference to whether we stay at a club or find other things to do on game days.
This is not just a West Perth matter, nor is it confined to Aussie Rules, or even sport come to that. In all walks of life it is often most notable that those young people showing respect for their peers and in particular their elders, are the ones that make the greatest gains in life.

I dont think the guys would be embarrassed to be named Mike. They should be named out of respect for what they have done and must be recognised. As far as I am concerned I respect. Anyone who pulls on a RED AND BLUE jumper are my HEROES. Love the Club and love the WAFL. Yeh I know a WAFL TRAGIC :) But there are a lot of us out there at all the G7 clubs and a few who are Shattered with their clubs crossing the line to the AFL.

I spoke to the guys who missed out. That is just part of Footy but they are young and will get another chance. I felt for them after they played all year. Seva was unlucky with his Injury but then again that happens a lot... Sev will be a big part of our club next year as will the guys who missed out on a medal... They are Red and Blue through and through and wont let us down..

Paul went to great lengths to mention these guys in his after game speech. Felt especially sorry for Gerro as dropped in first final.. Got into the Prelim and missed out again. Johnno missed out and again he will be up there in 2015. Well done to Zanetts and Cory Chalmers for being included this week.

And last but not least Really felt for Mitch McPhee who had an incredible season and one our best in every game. Another player who missed out because of Injury :( Mitch is going to be a big part of club in years to come.
Another player who missed out due to Injury was Tim Sutherland who did some excellant rucking work when Sev missing. .. Looking forward to seeing Tim again next year.
A special mention must be made of Dean Munns who came up from the Colts and filled in the gaps with distinction. He has a great future in front of him as had no problem fitting into the higher level.

As Paul said about 40 players when through the reserves and out of that he had to pick a Final 22.. Unfortunately some have to miss out at all levels but they will not be forgotten. I have most probably left a couple out myself and apologize to those guys

Have a good off season guys... :)

Mike same to you and all you have to do is get your posting threads right eg this one to WPFC and STOP duplicating other peoples posts. I look forward to seeing you again next year and well done on your Sandover medal selections shit mate that was right on the mark.
