Poor seasons will do this to a club. Look at Port Power, not long ago they were the toast of Adelaide, now they get more support at a SANFL game.

It is no wonder Swans were keen to become the eagles host club given the news about their tax debt - the old president must have been really pissed off his escape plan failed - no wonder he threw a tantrum at the WAFC meeting.

On 11 December Cardy said this about EP and Peel -

2 clubs who have got themselves into financial strife because of their incompetent Committees and lack of ability or lazyness in organising functions etc to get in the funds.

I guess Cardy also thinks these other clubs have incompetent committees and are lazy. I say some clubs see the environment for what it is.

MO this clown is just another Eagles Reserve side supporter trying to justify their former clubs presidents decision on his own to sell out, bend over & let the Eagles have their way!!
Swans along with WP have been the 2 real WAFL clubs totally against this host club/takeover bull$hit.
Keep living in denial daveroyal & other former club known as EP supporters but your former club has sold out yet again!!

The bar had a massive downturn in trade and gate receipts were well down as well, there was also a oddly large sume spent by the footy dept, on players wages I guess, last year was a terrible loss and quite a shock I was thinking with the draft fees we would have a decent year financially, I really hope we can turn it around this year on the books. we need more people in the bar spending a few bucks.

would have to look at the balance sheet before claiming any club was insolvent...trading at a loss for a short period can be overcome as long as assets are greater than liabilities...but agree you wouldn't want to keep losing money over a long term that's for sure.
