Accepting without any reservation the tradgedy of a child dying from a poisoned drink in a third world country, why do we now behave like the English and Tin Tanks in trying to tell another country what it should and should not do!

I thought that 'gun boat' diplomacy was a thing of the past and then to have every muppet under the sun critise the Government (non party political statement) for not telling the Indonesians what they should do!

We really seriously get over ourselves and a apparent high opinion of our importance.

Right DG Australians should just boycott the shit hole Bali. Nah wont happen as so cheap. Is it worth dying for? Lots of other problems including Terrorist bombs, Legionaries, diarrhea, Mugging Typhoid, Hepatitis, Drugs etc etc. On average 1 Australian dies a week in Bali RIP.

The place is corrupt and the Bar in question is most probably owned by a Copper anyway so it wont be closed. They also so sell drugs openly. What a two faced country Indonesia is. Corby must be really pissed off. 2 sets of rules

Agree with all of you boys Bali is a 3rd world $hit tip that is only popular with Perth's cashed up bogans looking for a cheap holiday, with cheap pi$$ & cheap tattoo parlours ..I personally wouldnt send my dog to that joint for holidays!!

Went there in 1982 and it was absolutely fantastic and the people were beautiful. Went there in 1992 and it was ok, but while the Balinese were good, a lot of Javanese had moved in and they were turds. Went there in 2012....will never go again...nuff said. Mind you, on all 3 trips I saw pissed up s**thead young Aussies making a fool of themselves and of Aussies in general.

I stay away from the "touristy" spots like Kuta.

Nusa Dua for instance is terrific.

Might be a bit quiet for you but for an oldie like me it's perfect stacks of great restaurants around including Benoa where Mead has one.

Security is terrific, security to get into Nusa Dua then security to get into all the hotels.
