Looks like a ripper. The most pleasing thing for me was hearing Barnett say it has the capacity to increase to 70 000 then 80 000 capacity. Good to see finally a good decision has been made to accommodate for the future and any future world cups from other codes we should be right in the frame to host matches with a world class stadium.

Should be built with 70,000 capacity & increase to 90,000. Just look at Adelaide's new stadium & over 55,000 but already TOO small..

Looks fantastic in the virtual video. A world class sporting stadium is long overdue for us here in the West and this could well be the best in the country when it is finally completed! :)

Looks fantastic and designed to be configured for most codes. The real issue now is how it will be managed and how that impacts on the AFL clubs which affects what dribbles down to our beloved WAFL.

It would be nice if the WAFC and powers that be could allocate seats to the 7 WAFL clubs, say 500 each which is only 3,500 seats out of 60k, not a big ask imho this allows the clubs another financial stream and they can market or package the seats however they choose. If seats are say $40 each that's potentially $20k per game or potentially $440k per season. Probably too simple a concept for the WAFC to consider and the 2 AwFuL clubs would scream blue murder as they have no time for the "troublesome" WAFL comp

Can't comment on the first sentence - I haven't seen the virtual video. However, in what might be a first, completely agree with the rest.

Good idea but I think the worst will happen for WA football.
Events West (the mob that run Arens Joondalup) or whatever their name is will end up managing the stadium and not the WAFC.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

From my understanding of it, the commission will be just like a user group and won't actually be managing the stadium. Most probably, Venues west will be put ion control of the venue. They will then appoint like a stadium manager for the day to day running of the site. Fairly certain the state govt will retain ownership. I think that's how it will work.
