Seems like the afl network are going to broadcast the WAFL if they get some changes to the season and a sponsor.

The prefered sponsor according to my quick read of the worst is AHG.

The fixture change is that the season is reduced to 18 games.

Had other things to do so left the article there, any more known and thoughts.

If this happens we should just give up - the WAFL competition will be devoid of any credibility.

I was told today that 7 wants 2 grounds - Patersons and one other, that the WAFL games there will either be pre or post the afl games.

Apparently the money is fair good especially from sponsors saying yes please advertising on a bigger stage.

Also in SA there has been an increase in ratings in the 7 broadcast. Don't know anything abt this one but suppose it is accurate.

I can see pre game at Subi I guess, that will cost them nothing as all the gear is there ready to go,,,I suppose that leaves Leederville for the other ground,,can't see any other one being feasible,

Flicking thru the West WAFL page an read this. Ok I know it has been covered but a bit more info.
I see this as a Get of Jail card for the WAFC/WAFL. They hold a 99 year lease on the Subi ground so it would most probably cost them to let it die and break the lease

Subi is a shit oval for the WAFL as the size of the ground and seating makes it a bit of a CIRCUS when we play there even in finals. Season games would be a joke
Subi would be all for it as they were given the Bar there as compensation after the WAFL/WAFC stopped paying them rent for the ground. Not a bad deal as their bar is popular and would be a million dollar income earner due to the function rooms there as well. So ok take Subi out of the equation.

The bloody ground should be bulldozed as other sports because of the capacity and seating the same would apply as above with the Atmosphere, parking etc.
Rugby league is a option but I think they are more in favour of the WACA.

And has been mentioned it could be retained and used again for WAFL games to APPEASE Channel 7. And the suggestion of 18 game season.
Another nail in the coffin for the WAFL. Shit Bunnings must be busy as they would be selling a lot of Nails to the WAFL/WAFC :)

Just my thoughts.

I wonder what happens when the Wafl broadcasts fail to 'rate' and the viewer ratings take a tumble which is a HUGE possibility? Given abc TV's excuse of the apparently low number of viewers for Wafl matches, one has to wonder how long the Wafl will stay on silly 7? I really do hope the live and excellent Wafl telecasts can stay on abc tv.
