Freez et al, as we speak, Medibank Stadium is battening down the hatches ....

Cyclone Shiny has just appeared on their radar...

Medibank Stadium. There are a lot of idiots out there; you are probably one of them. A definite is the man who thinks East Perth won’t jackboot into the GF like the Germans into Paris in 1940.
This place has the equal best parking to Lathlain. Park over at the Rec Centre, get yourself a free three hour ticket and hit the entrance. Walk up to the Subi bunker and take a look at the happy faces. They are a happy mob up there I can tell you, flush with cash from their Subi Oval deal, lighting cigars with $100 notes, no merger or close down talk around here. They’ve got so much cash if it wasn’t for that darn salary cap they’d have made a play for Buddy Franklin. I have never been there but hear the bar is not expensive and pumping. They have a nice spot on the ladder and are happy with the world. They missed the alignment gig but hey they know they could buy the whole WAFC if they wanted to and start their own league.

Let’s move on down the track to the Royals.
At ground level are the diehard East Perth supporters who are none too pleased that twenty of their list departed when the writing was on the wall for the evil empire arrival. They want success but with THEIR players not the left over EGirls. Up the stairs and you find a different breed of Royal. No security guards here, you are welcome up there to one of the best viewing spots in the WAFL. The EP mob doesn’t tolerate the slightest mistake from their AFL interlopers and expect perfection. They let them know quick smart if they disapprove. One lady has taken a dislike to Ashley Smith like he kicked her puppy. This mob wouldn’t care if their forward line consisted of Jack The Ripper, Idi Amin and Osama Bin Laden as long as it brought them the cup.

The EGirls support/talent/management staff turns up, have a yawn and talk about EGirls players. Adam Simpson though couldn’t find this place even if the GPS was set for him. Shiny’s EP inside man said a couple of them were replaying a particular play “Lycett passed it to an East Perth bloke who passed it to another East Perth bloke who kicked it to McInnes.” They don’t know who is in the team and don’t care. Job Description “attend EP WAFL games” tick. An EGirl’s player watching on with a sling adds “gee I wish I had that much time (to decide what to do with the ball) where I play” This isn’t an alignment, merger or partnership this is a conquering. The EGirls are like the teenager who is off to the pictures with his mates and made to take his six year old brother.

On the field the East Perth gladiators are dispatching the opposition. The EP players look up to the stand, Emperor Bronte gives the thumbs down and they put the opposition to the sword ;) all is rosy at Leederville but there may be a road bloke ahead. Read “6 things that may stop the Royals winning the flag” and get to number one (work in progress).
The fans outward appearance is one of extreme confidence, they think they are across the line with a hoof in the air. But in the back of their minds is a GF loss last year while favs and the possibility that something might happen to take this one off them.

Lowlight: tuning up to the ground when you are the Christian and they are the lions.

Highlight: parking, grand stands, driving past this mob on the way home from Subi on GF day if the 50 to 1 chance gets up.

3/10 Falc? listen we don't want to hear the results of your reading and comprehension test. Next time I'll type slower and use smaller words so you can understand. Better still, just wait for the DVD to come out.

THE END.

That's the spirit BC, taken in good jest. Loved the bit about Emporer Bronte giving the thumbs down to the gladiators.. Haha. Keep em coming Shiny or are they all covered? Disappointed you didn't mention the cracks at the back of the grandstand at Moss st as you walk in lol.

Loved them all.

Every club has something you can target for a piss take. Well done Shiny.

Is this what footy is really about??

I think so.
