Feet off the grouud, eyes not on the ball takes Selwood to the head with an elbow. Ahh but NO!!!, he was bracing for contact...ahhh right, why does that defence NOT work for any other player. Bad luck Stevie j, Ballentyne, Chapman and Nat Fyffe. Bloody JOKE

Guess we should be happy the AOTY is now using his elbows rather than sliding in with his knees. If Mathew Lloyd can be referred to as a sniper then Goodes would have to be the executioner. For such a "clean" player he has some of the worst technique in the game but never seems to fail to execute when using them. Further confirms what a joke the Fyfe ban was, an early season blunder the MRP should be ashamed of and retract in hindsight.

Agree anchor should have been 4....Mckernan's face breaking attempt last year should have gone for 8-10 minimum...I'm happy for Sidebottom's to be 3 weeks if Fyfe's is no weeks based on my opinion that if there is no malice then why continue to be so intent on rubbing our stars out....Sidebottom clearly went in to hit and is very lucky no jaw break occurred or he'd be out for 6. After viewing the Goodes hit again tonight I find nothing to change my mind that he executes with precision once again, nothing accidental about the hit, he knew what he was doing. Funny how some in the media always seem to call one of the slickest ball movers of the modern era "clumsy" every time he goes in for a kill. The Executioner goes unpunished again....surprise surprise

Just another reason the AFL comp is a joke. This is beyond being inconsistent, its political, and I'm loosing any slight bit of interest I had fast.

I would suspect that one of the criterion for determining whether an incident should incur a suspension is the name of the player who may be suspended. Using that as the basis then a determination is made as to the force, intent etc.

E.g. if one plays for Gold Coast then nothing short of an Atilla the Hun type incident is a classic case of "nothing to see here".

If one put Ballatyne as the perpetrator of any of the incidents where there has been no suspension it doesn't take too much imagination to come to the conclusion that he would have been suspended.

Adam Goodes says he will not change the way he plays the game after the AFL's latest staging controversy sparked a Twitter feud between the dual Brownlow Medallist and another Australian sporting icon, Shane Warne.
A defiant Goodes hit out at critics on Sunday – including former cricket great Warne – who suggest he plays for free kicks, saying those who had not played the game were not in a position to pass judgment on what happened out on the field.
His comments came after Warne accused Goodes of staging during Sydney's clash with Richmond and questioned whether the Swans champion was a worthy recipient of the Australian of the Year award. Warne later said Goodes' onfield behaviour was not befitting a person with that honour.
The storm started after Goodes fell to the ground after he and Richmond defender Alex Rance collided during Saturday's game, angering Tigers fans who believed he was trying to con the umpire into awarding him a free kick. Goodes was subsequently jeered by the yellow and black faithful.
Replays show Rance made contact with his left arm to Goodes's upper chest and neck region, though commentators on broadcaster Fox Sports believed he had over-accentuated the force. No free kick was awarded.

Saw the incident LS. His best days are way way behind him. Never doubted his ability as a footaller, always though he was a sniper. who never ever seemed to be "pinged" Warne is entitled to his opinion as well. in this case i agree with him.
