I have to agree with Cardy there Grump. I do feel for you, but I'm glad your passion is not lost on the real EP sides.

I don't know if you watched it last night, but It was very hard to barrack for EP knowing that is was just a run for the Eagles players, being tested in positions they normally don't play - all in a meaningless game for the Eagles.

There was very little support for EP last night, a club that would normally be well supported proud old club. Very said...

They have allowed 2 clubs to become part of the AFL rather than letting players play for their own clubs and having a couple of other allocated to let it remain as a level playing field. Enough said so lets not carry on and move on.. To what we are unsure?

They call it Collateral damage.

hopefully he will have a full member of the colledge of surgeons looking after him, if I get your pun right!

I still don't understand how any club that has any ties to an AFL club can or should participate in the foxtel cup.
Forget my hate for the former club called East perth but I mean across Australia.

The foxtel cup should be for stand alone state league clubs only. No alignment clubs at all.

GWS now way around it really unless they chuck out the VFL clubs.
We played I think it was ..Werribee last year who were aligned with North Melbourne..
This year we played Box Hill Aligned with Hawthorn and nine listed AFL players in their side.. Yet we beat them.
The Foxtel cup teams are first and second in each state at end of season.
I do agree it is a bit disjointed as we are playing sides from Canberra (Ainslie) and clubs from QAFL etc who are not really up to it.

Now Tassie was a bit different and went outside of the Rules where they played a combined Tassie side not the Premiership side. Possibly because the Tassie Premiers would of been no match for the other teams???

It is a bit of a dogs breakfast I admit but while I was not for it in the beginning I am getting a bit of interest now. Especially as WP have had a couple of runs.. and done reasonably well.. Then we have CLA who have been in it twice and won the Final.
EF in the final last year and just got beaten..

Nice reward for the clubs and it doesnt really impact the season to much as the teams we send over are usually below strength e.g WP with a lot of reserves. This enables the clubs to rest key players and players with minor injuries.

One thing it does prove along with our win v Vic last year and wins in the Foxtel with understrength sides WAFL IS THE PREMIER FOOTBALL STATE.
Well SA might claim that so next game they play will show. We were defeated in our last meet v SA

2012 SANFL 15.11 (101) def. WAFL 13.9 (87)

Looking forward to the SA V VIC game - Yeh I know this is off topic B)

The SANFL State Team will tackle arch-rivals the VFL in Victoria on Saturday May 31. Being this Saturday..

Coverage should be on the SANFL site and news on the game at this link

Now I started a post up on the WPFC re Foxtel Cup expecting little response :( but it went on to become one of our biggest threads ever.. Strange but it goes to show there is a bit of interest if you side is playing..

ozfooty.net/joomla16/forum/westperth/249...up-2014?limitstart=0

The finals are interesting and it could be a all WA game in the end between WP and EP -- GO WILLIAMSTOWN ;)

I will be certainly going to the game WP v Tassie Storm on TUESDAY 24 JUNE and it could be a reasonable crowd albeit at Pattersons it will look small :(
I would of loved the game be held at Leederville

as you can see if WP wins and EP win it will be a WAFL GRAND FINAL

Willamstown broke away from their Western Bulldogs host club alliance this year and went on a recruiting spree.

They are coached by former West Adelaide coach Andy Collins, who incandescently was the winning coach in the Foxtel Cup last year with the Bloods.

They have consistently been in the Foxtel cup, initially beating Swan Districts with pretty much their current Western Bulldogs AFL side including Daulhaus, Minson and others.

Williamstown then went on to winning the inaugural GF against Claremont at Subiaco with quite a number of notable Western Bulldogs players at the time.

The Seagulls currently sit fourth on the VFL ladder, above a number of notable AFL reserves sides.

Williamstown for me over East Perth. Another training drill for the WCE and EP.
