I don't know if anyone else saw the article by Steve Butler on page 29 of today's paper. It was about Andrew Krakouers rehabilitation and him being an inspiration to other talented players within the prison system. I was very disappointed with the way the article was written, especially the following paragraph " Krakouer remembered his stunning goal against Port Adelaide in his first game for the Magpies in round one of 2011 as the moment he had dragged himself from the brink of self destruction and resurrected his sporting career"

The article made no mention of the role that the Swan Districts Football Club played by recruiting him while he was on remand in 2008, maintaining contact with him while he was serving his sentence and then giving him another opportunity in 2010 when he was an integral part of the Swans premiership team. I just thought that this would have at least been worth a passing mention in the article as if it hadn't been for Swans giving him this support there would have been no second chance at an AFL career. Swans fans are grateful to Andrew for what he did in 2010 and he will always be welcome at the club but to imply that he went straight from Gaol to an AFL club without significant support from the WAFL system is not telling the full story and pretty poor journalism on Butlers part.

Another reason why I don't buy the paper very often anymore, The Worst or ST. I can do a much better job myself in finding out the facts in what I need to know, and a lot of us on here are the same. Krakouer wouldn't have a career if it wasn't for SD, that is a fact

Apparently there is a ABC TV show coming up this week featuring Andrew called "Outside Chance" which is about prison football teams. Will be interesting to see how things are portrayed. Funny enough Butler actually mentioned that Andrew had captained his prison team to a premiership before being released :S

Ahaha good one, Clownsend was at Joondy today along with another bright spark in Corbin :P
Did you hear another great writer in Mark Duffield this morning say on ABC720 that the 3400 at yesterdays Subi v East Perth game was about what would have been normally expected on a Saturday between these two teams! hahaha Judgy and Corbin for that matter put him straight. It was double what they would get because neutrals like me and you went along

Mike having thought more about this it comes as no surprise to me. Like Swandog these days I rarely ever read that fish and chips wrapper The Worst anymore.
But one thing I had noticed over previous years was when Butler would do one of his puff piece's from Melbourne he would invariably interview an ex Bunbury boy eg Lewis Jetta, Neville Jetta and a couple of others and he wouldnt even mention they had played at Swans at all  it was always former South Bunbury player or ex Carey Park junior etc etc ..the guy has obviously got some deep seated grudge against Swans (probably no doubt we recognised he had no football ability whatsoever) and it shows in every puff piece he writes.
To not even recognise Swans MAJOR part in Krakouer's rehabilitation and then comeback to the AFL (especially seeing as tho Swans board member at the time Scott Cummings played a major role in Collingwood picking Kraks up) would normally defy logic ..but seeing that you have mentioned it was done by Butler and The Worst it doesnt surprise me one iota!
