West Oz article today. Cyclists want road speed reduced, to feel safer, what about reducing cyclist speed on dual use paths around Perth to make pedestrians feel safer. Plus enforcing the compulsory bell on bike to warn the walkers we are about to rip passed you. Cyclists are hypocrites, they feel bullied on the road so they bully walkers on the dual use paths, especially the lycra brigade.

Could not agree anyone with you. Have had the same argument many times with my cyclist brother-in-law.

Bloody lycra lunatics, I piddle myself every time there is a pile up in those races and they all topple over each other and mangle themselves. I don't mind the blokes that cycle to work or the recreational cyclist but the lycra lunatics are a pack of strompers. I mean, fancy getting dressed up like a clown with your knackers bulging out like two emu eggs in a sugar bag just to ride a push bike. Next they will all be taking drugs to keep up with what's hip. The council put in a cycle way and they still use the road. I reckon some of those blokes don't have seats on their bikes, actually I wouldn't mind being a girls bike seat. Off to get another bottle.

Another screemar classic

As for the lycra brigade, they give me the screaming shites. WTF is going on? They ride like they own the bloody road and now they (the huge MINORITY) want the huge MAJORITY to bow to their ridiculous wishes. They want to ride on the road with rights? Lets start by making them register their bikes, display number plates and get a bicycle rider's licence.

They will be sucessful, minority groups always are, Especially seeing WA is a nanny state.

They won't need much of an excuse to lower speeds for to revenue raise to fix the AAA credit rating.

The rest of the country is talking about removing cyclists from the roads with specalised cycle lanes and forcing them to pay registration. I can't see WA doing this... Revenue, revenue, revenue.

When I was back there last year your speed limits were 60km in places where if it was NSW they'd be 80km.

I remember when they dropped a heap of limits back 13 - 14 years or so ago and introduced zero tollerance so they could raise the revenue to purchase all the second hand multi-nova's from BC in Canada as they were deemed unconstitutional there. I got done for being 1km (one) over the speed limit on the highway just out side of Byford in a car that only had MPH on the speedo... When I questioned Armadale Police they said many cyclists use this highway, and they were doing a blitz. :S

Anyway, good luck to the precious little cyclists who litter the side roads in this country with their energy bar wrappers and disposable water bottles.

You don't pay rego, so don't use the road, and especially not the highways that motorists pay to maintain and then complain about reducing limits to suit yourself.

the biking phenomenon is being taken up with gusto by white, middle class men which explains why the bike riding lobby has such prominence and voice.

they are a pox on the road but just wait, this latest fad will fade when all the "me-too" hangers-on get bored and move on to the next craze....

Fuck cyclists. They bitch and moan about the road rules, yet I constantly see cyclists riding through red lights, not giving way etc etc.
Dont even get me started on their outfits. It is NOT ok to wear those lycra outfits anywhere, let alone thinking its ok to wear them to a busy cafe where people are trying to eat without having your balls or gaping flaps forced into their view.
