seems it not just whatley swan..maybe your just touchy...
Thanks Bazza for confirming my suspicions. Was there a substantial difference in the inside 50s for Hawthorn compared to Fremantle? Conservatively Freo kicked at least 4 to 6 out of bounds on the full with shots at goal and probably an equal number of points as kicks out of bounds. Hypothetically if half of those shots at goals were successful, then the Freo scoreline would look as though they had an attacking mindset. But why let that get in the way of a good story.
To reiterate it would be expecting too much to have a reasonable precis of Freo's year from the likes of Whateley et al.
Well it is Lyon that has produced 34 goals in 4 grand finals so its a logical assumption i would have thought. The game does not work on Hypotheticals, if it did perhaps then Freo may not have beaten the cats, after the cats missed numerous chances in week one.
Unka2 the premise behind the Lyon criticism is that he is too defence oriented and hence their inability to win GFs. It is patently nonsensical to attribute that trait to the Freo's loss in the GF. It was their inability to kick straight which precluded them from kicking a much higher score. It was not because of their predilection towards defence.
nah BS ..the more and the betetr the chances more goals, the bloke plays boring footy...its more of a credit to the hawks that they were able to kick more goals under stiffling dfeensive lyon style game plan...despite having far more defensive pressure, the Hawks were still able to put it on the scoreboard when it counted.
Poor kicking is poor footy anyway.
Its not just Whatley - get over it,
