Serioulsy, so we have crew members in the Americas cup...BIG effing deal, but no no all of a sudden WE have won the cup. If it wasnt so stupid it would be plain embarrassing.

Would love to know what the Yanks (Australians) did to come back from 8-1 down. One of the biggest comebacks of all time especially in a race like this.

Unka seeing the NZ team choke on an 8-1 lead has been priceless for me living in NZ.....given me enough ammunition to keep those All Blacks > Wallabies jibes at bay for a good year I reckon.......the whole country thought they had it in the bag......you should of seen them today.....gutted was enough of a description TBH!!

No probs at all 58, its the OVER adulation by "surprise surprise" the damn media, that shytes me.

I do find it strange that an Australian is skippering a US team boat in a competition that seems to be based so much on national pride and all this seems to contradict previous Aussie quests in the 60's 70's and 80's to take the cup off those cheating yanks

Yep great memories of 1983, like it was yesterday, stayed up into the we small hours and watched the final race on my Rank Arena set, living and working in Fremantle at the time remember driving in the next morning, there were Aussie flags up all over town, everyone was so upbeat and talking about the amazing economic impact it would have on the town.

after that i went up to the big street parade down st georges tce and on to the Esplanade celebration with the crew and mighty bondy holding the cup - saw it clearly - great days, won't see that again!
