Well we have a Barnett led Liberal Government which has made breaking promises an artform. How many LIES can he tell about rail project? First Ellenbrook and now the rail link to the airport. Why he is reneging on another rail project? Well because of his profligate spending and total mismanagement of the mining boom he has seen the degradation of our credit rating and has lost us our triple A rating. That is his excuse for shelving the rail link and also the light rail.

This at the time when revenues to the WA state government are above estimates. We can forget the furphy about it is because of the drop in GST revenue. That was known at the time Barnett made the promises. He said the rail link project was fully costed and fully funded. The emperor has consistently lied about fully costed and funded projects. For example, the Swan Valley road project had Federal money reserved; it was the Barnett Government which had not reserved the money.

Now we come to the Abbott Government. After using a billboard to announce the number of baot arrivals prior to the election, it is now an imperative to keep the Australian public in the dark about boat arrival. Will not announce when a boat is towed back to Indonesia. Could this all be because Abbott and Morrison know that there policy is not practical and will not work. So much for transparency. The sacking of senior public servants because they carried out the policies of the Government which is what they are supposed to do reeks of politicisng the public servant.

What a disgrace both governments are and I hope that those that pilloried the Rudd and Gillard Governments will be equally scathing of the Barnett and Abbott Governments for their breaches of promises and commitments they made prior to their respective elections.

Yes but remember 'interest rates will always be lower under a Coalition government' and 'the economy will always be stronger under a Coalition Government'.

What next? 'The sky will always be bluer under a Coalition Government', 'Beer will always taste better under a Coalition Government'

Anyway I'm off to get my saucepan helmet and broomstick rifle to go and defend the NW coast and the nation under Operation Sovereign Borders. How infantile are this mob and their redneck backers?

Bazza Morrison and Abbott were up to their necks in billboards announcing the number of boats that arrived; now it is off limits. Morrison has gone missing and is incommunicado. No communication to be given ever when a boat is towed back. So much for transparency.

How about the limiting of university education places.

Unka2 the day the Liberals have policies which are attuned to my values they will get my vote. But given what Pyne is doing with respect to Uni places and given that he asked a GRAND TOTAL of THREE QUESTIONS relating to Education in the entire three years of the last parliament it is very unlikely that they will be getting my vote anytime soon.

. Pity you cant convince others mate, as i said UNDER 30% primary vote, how sad for your mob. Once the labor party distnace themselves from being a party that is run by the unions amd thier thugs, they wont be getting my vote anytime soon.

I don't understand what you are trying to say hey Unka2. Are you for or against the Labor Party have affiliations with trade unionists? We came back after the schism in the 50s which gave birth to the DLP and the DLP's sole purpose was to ensure the ALP never got back into government. We came back after the disgraceful actions of Sir (what a joke) John Kerr and we came back after the John 'children overboard, AWB bribe scandal, et al' Howard. We will come back again after the Tony "I don't believe in Climate Change due to human action even though at latest count 95-97% of the scientists qualified in climate studies believe it is true' Abbott.

Reading in today's West we have yet another broken promise from the Barnett Government. I hasten to add it is not me who has called Barnett to task; rather it is members of his own constituency such as and I quote:

'WAFarmers president Dale Park said the Government was trying to "weasel out" of its election commitment by suggesting the lines were not viable.'

For further details please see link below:

au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/breaking/1...ines-angers-farmers/

Yet we see none of the vitriol towards Colin Barnett which was expressed by some contributors of this site towards Julia Gillard over her alleged broken promises. Could it be that they are in such a state of shock over Barnett's broken promises that they have been struck mute?
