Be it Gazza snr Cousins hird carey, why cant people separate the champion footballer, to the less than decent/moralistic person. I read that 67% of Essendon fans believe that golden boy has done nothing wrong and is still the "hero" that he was as a player. Serioulsy i reckon these blokes could murder someones kids, and they would still back their hero... AMAZING

Lets face it Unk the majority of Essenscum fans arent the sharpest tools in the shed it has to be said!!

Also I think these guys get so used to being hero worshipped that they think they are bullet proof. This may explain some of Hird's apparent denial that he is responsible in any way for what has happened

one thing can now not EVER be denied.

And that is Hird tried to gain a quick advantage thru a drug programme. Whether essendon get off or not, thru those text messages, he tried to take a serious short cut. that cannot be denied so i cannot ever see him in any positive light at all.

Exactly right Unka, its pathetic, some dropkicks in the general public need to have a long hard look at themselves.

I bet Essendon are kicking themselves for not paying out Robinson to shut his mouth.

I had to laugh about one of his points. Robinson said only Zarky didn't do the programme but Mark says well that's totally wrong.

So Luke says well how many was it Mark? ... Mark - I don't want to say. Luke - was it less than 5? Mark - yes.

Not like a dozen blokes or more where the statement of only 1 was just preposterous. It could well have been only 1 more but any chance to say Robinson was wrong.

It is a cautionary tale for those who cast doubts about the severity of this situation. There were many who suggested that it was all a beat-up by the Labor Government and put forward as a distraction. It would be almost impossible for anyone to think that is the case now.

A lot of damaged has been done to the Essendon Football Club's reputation, the reputation of many people involved at Essendon, the AFL competition etc. I suspect that things will get a lot worse in the ensuing weeks and months. I have held the position for a while that Hird's position longterm was not sustainable no matter what the exact findings of the ASADA inquiry.

Let's hope like the ICAC recommendations on the ALP in NSW - this actually ends up with some sever penalties and not just a lot of huffing and puffing piss and hot air.
