After the articles in this mornings west its time for Barnett to make a hero of himself, approve the pipeline form the Ord.
Two great spin offs;
a) unlimited water
b) job creation to replace the dip in the mining employment

Bloody Barnett :( He treats us like idiots

Got a letter today from Synergy..

Headed YOU WILL GET A BETTER BUYBACK RATE FOR YOUR ENERGY - which is good news for YOU.

Happy with the above then the scam was explained :(

I have solar panels... ok that made me happy
Was getting 8c per unit and they increased it to 8.8529 or almost 9c unit

Now the bad news

Your energy consumption tax will increase to 25.9052 per unit and your daily supply rate to 43.2072 THE OLD RATE WAS 22.62

Now even blind Freddy can do their sums here..

Old solar rate 8.409 New solar rate per unit 8.852
Old supply rate 22.62 cents per unit NEW rate 25.905 up around 3c per unit
Old supply charge = 23.79 daily up to 43.207 daily increase of 20c

Farken generous and they say this is GOOD NEWS FOR YOU?

Err am I missing something???? Some of us do read our bills and letters Colin.
If you didnt get the letter today you will be getting it soon

Now I did some Google research and went back to the Western Power days when 1 company owned by the Government did it all.
Hey hey ran at a profit every year and charges were reasonable

Along comes the outsourcing to private companies and they Run at a huge loss
Another example is Transperth being sold out to private companies who run at a loss and must be subsidized by the Government USING OUR MONEY

Shit a bit hard to blame the Federal Government for that COLIN! AS you so often do.
This message represents the official view of the voices in my head

When you see how much water flows out to sea up there and considering we'll end up drinking someone's piddle and treated sea water, it's a bloody CRIME!!! Col went into an election on the back of a canal and got flogged. Time to have another go Col....people will reconsider when there's no water to give to their lawns and petunias.

I agree with that sentiment, I have actually thought over the years that they should get the asylum seekers to build it, give them proper accom , food etc and limited $ and train them up to build it. The women can stay back at camp and prepare meals etc (although this may be considered sexist so give them the option to get on the tools too) and the children can be schooled etc in the area. By building the pipeline they will achieve instant citizenship and provide them with skills that we need. It would be better than a concentration camp surely! And they may get a feeling of ownership and pride afterwards. All of it done with their best interests at heart ofcourse
